Bradley on Sublime’s Robbing the Hood comes to mind, the man was a musical genius. I can also see the purist’s view, knowing what it takes to get a twelve piece band to play with such focus that the song is elevated. Meaning, something special is captured in the performance. Music has a mystical element within it, everyone in the video experienced it. I’m a little high so I’m gonna stop rambling and listen lol.

I met M’vam Georges Collinet in 1989 after listening for years, this was great timing due to the release of ANC chief Nelson Mandela. There was a resurgence of Afro Pop at the time and it was absolutely delicious! Shout out to Michael (Mikey Dread) Julian for his excellent work spreading AfroPop and Reggae, Zook and Soca to the Metro Detroit area! Burnin Spear and UB40 were huge. What great memories, this piece brings it all flooding back nicely. My old hips are movin. Good vibration 🎉
