    Omo. There's so much musical royalty in the video. I will pay anything to watch this band play. First time I am seeing Yetunde Kuti sing. Thought she only danced. The female Keyboardist killed it, so did every other player there. Fela is the Greatest! 🇳🇬 🇺🇸

      Yeah, it comes with the type of music also, this is something missing in our generation, most people want to learn riffs and scatter the music. This is how music was back in the day, everything is clearly communicated, clean, and understandable.

      This is Afrobeat and not Afrobeats. Stop confusing Afrobeat with the British-named genre Afrobeats which initially was known as Naija Hip-hop/pop.

    Drums and Bass… deep pockets. The whole band absolutely outstanding. I wish my dad was still alive to hear this. He was the biggest Fela Kuti fan… this reminds me of him and his vinyl records. He/we named my daughter Funmilayo.

    UPSIDE DOWN was MY very first Fela Anikolapo Kuti song in 1978. 😉 heard it on WRTI-FM 90.1 in Philadelphia in ‘78 and loved it 😍 Reminded me of Manu Dibango’s Soul Makossa in a way (the Afrobeat)! 🥰👍🏾

      @@Rodeo.Wone person in the studio, playing and recording every instrument, that’s putting in work and I respect that. Bradley on Sublime’s Robbing the Hood comes to mind, the man was a musical genius. I can also see the purist’s view, knowing what it takes to get a twelve piece band to play with such focus that the song is elevated. Meaning, something special is captured in the performance. Music has a mystical element within it, everyone in the video experienced it. I’m a little high so I’m gonna stop rambling and listen lol.

    I met M’vam Georges Collinet in 1989 after listening for years, this was great timing due to the release of ANC chief Nelson Mandela. There was a resurgence of Afro Pop at the time and it was absolutely delicious!
    Shout out to Michael (Mikey Dread) Julian for his excellent work spreading AfroPop and Reggae, Zook and Soca to the Metro Detroit area!
    Burnin Spear and UB40 were huge.
    What great memories, this piece brings it all flooding back nicely.
    My old hips are movin.
    Good vibration 🎉

    I just found this video yesterday. I had to come watch it again today. A room full of beauty and talent. What an incredible performance. Upside Down is one of my favorite Fela songs, and THIS performance of the song is one of the best I have seen. Incredible energy and talent.

    You need to understand and love UPSIDE DOWN to replicate it.
    I'll give these young lads led by Seun Kuti a pass mark of 70%
    This piece is not an easy one.
    The role of the pianist and drummer on the original version were immense.
    I can imagine how tough it was for Seun to orchestrate this.
    All the same LOVE for the effort.❤❤❤❤❤❤.
