These videos are exactly what I need! Part of my work benefits package is a 5Gb XGS-PON connection. For the past year its been bottlenecked to 1Gb due to my router's 1Gb WAN port. I'm learning RouterOS on a CRS305, and I have a CRS309 delivering next week.
indeed very details and straight forward. you mention about bridging the ports and making them act as a switch. we are still waiting for the video that's if you don't mind. Thank you
Great Video! This is one of the clearest and most well-organized introductions to MikroTik I have seen for beginners. Really respectful of the time and effort put into this.
Thank you! I have my first mikrotik router and switch on the way and this is very helpful! In my case, the switch will be before the router as the router i'm getting only has 1 SFP+ port but the switch has 4
Sir its a nice video. it shows every details clearly but you just forgot to describe how to disable the BRIDGE PATH in order to add DHCP server to the LAN interfaces. Thank you!!!
Is there a way i could get a configuration example showing setting up a l2tpv3 tunnel between a mikrotik running 7.14.3 and a remote server/router that is not a tplink
very insightful video! I moved to a new (plinq) fibre/tv provider (250/250) and just returned an ubiquity cloud gateway ultra because it can't route ip-tv signals from dutch kpn into a separate vlan and does neither connect over ppoe on the standard 2,5GbE port. The old trusty microtik I received 15 years ago was able to just untag ip-tv, telephone and internet into 3 separate ports and this is the reason I want to buy again a microtik. If you would have the time to send me a pm with some advice, i would be very grateful.
Hello sir, I have a system already working but I want to change Internet Service porvider to Starlink, do what settings do I need to tweak to make it work? Thank you so much
hi there, it depends on your current setup. if you are currently using the ISP router (PPPoE) and if you change to a different ISP, all you need to do is configure the new router with the same IP address as the current one. However, if you want to configure PPPoE on the mikrotik then you need the PPPoE details (username & password). You can check my other video on how to configure PPPoE. tqvm
hi there, yes, we need to set IP address for the LAN so all the devices connected to ether2 will be on the same subnet or will automatically receive IP address if you enabled the DHCP server. If you don't assign IP address to the ether2 or LAN interface then all the LAN devices cannot receive IP address or it short, it will not work.
hi there, "Unidentified network" means your laptop is not receiving IP address or misconfiguration on the IP address. If you set the MikroTik as DCHP server then make sure to set your laptop to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP). If you did not set DHCP server on the MikroTik then manually configure your laptop IP address within the same subnet with the MikroTik LAN.
This video seems to have gained an international recognition. Talking about MikroTik configuration, it stands out from the mass.

Sir, Can I use any private IP for ether2? Please help.
