Nicely done. The performance in-person was fantastic. Thanks for a glimpse behind the scenes.

So cool! Thanks for doing a behind the scenes. Might have to hit you up sometime for a tron style costume design I wanted to do.

i just did almost exactly the same project for a dance in a panto back in january, i used the same esp modules, initially used the same switching method with shorting out the button (but i had reliability issues and switched to some 5v inverters) but i only had one string per dancer. how did you manage the on/off signals for your dance? i wired a "transmitter" esp module to our dmx network and i controlled it from the lighting desk

If you're asking how I synchronized the EL wire to the music, I used a piece of open source software called xLights. It's designed for Christmas light shows but works great for things like this too!

Man, I feel for you. I was in charge for the AV for a school event too! Much less budget tho, so there weren't so many things to worry about

Honestly, there was no budget for the AV of this event. Everything I used was stuff that the school had owned, I owned, or I borrowed from friends for this event. I just have fun going completely overkill with AV because its boring otherwise 😂
