Rod. Me too. Years ago heading from Ohio to Northern Mich. Passed several army convoys while giving them the thumbs up/waving/saluting them for quite a few miles. Looked at my gas gauge and it was almost on E. I thought to myself how embarising it would be if I ran out of gas and the army convoys passed by me. Lucky for me I did finally find a gas station but I was about on fumes. That was too close for comfort

We coasted into the small town of Redstone in Colorado on fumes- and they had no gas and no cell service! We had a great lunch in the old hotel though but had to use a landline to call AAA to bring a couple gallons of gas! Could have been worse!

I spent a month riding down in Mexico in 2002 and was much further down in country. First thing I’ll say is that it’s a beautiful country with some amazing national treasures. Beyond that, on our ride out of the country, one of our riders was hit head on by a bus near Durango. Very long story short, after 2 days and paying bribes to Mexican cops, soldiers and Red Cross ambulance drivers I had her on a med evac jet headed to Texas. I’ll still remember that ride for the rest of my life mostly for all the good things but a few bad things.
Before anyone wants to criticize, I’ve worked in several countries, including China so I’m not unaware of the nuances of being a guest in another country.

A RidgeRest foam sleeping pad, cut into two - maybe three or four? - pieces furnish a comfy pad on which to stand while showering or working, portable cushion for sitting, kneeling on while working on a bike or oil changes, etc. A whole one is nice to lay on while working on the bottom of a bike. Loving your tent trailer but boy does it look heavy. I just bought my first utility trailer that we will be using this summer. Dr. Aberlardo Norzagaray is our dentist in Algodones. Wish we knew you were going to be there. We have friends who live in Algodones and know where the really good food is. Love this video

Calamity is relative: blew a piston on my Honda 450 outside Post, TX in 1975. A kind sheriff loaded his car with all my gear and dropped it off at the city park while my fellow traveler pulled my bike with his Triumph to the park and the next day to Lubbock. Try negotiating a traffic circle being pulled by another bike. My parents wired me the money to fix the bike. I had $1.50 in my pocket when I arrived home in SD.
In ‘97, while on a solo 10,000 mile trip on my new Honda Valkyrie riding 75 mph, I broadsided an antelope. Since I rolled, slid and bounced along for quite a distance, I remember thinking that this wasn’t very much fun. The National Cycle windshield stopped the antelope from hitting me, so a new radiator and headlight had me on my way. Three weeks later an old truck turned left into a field just as I was passing it. I still have blue paint on my leather jacket and tire rubber marks were added to my already scratched up white helmet. The driver of the truck had no license, no insurance, no working lights on the truck.
So...count your blessings and enjoy doing what you can while you can.

WOW! U Guys are fantastic! I am in the process of converting a shuttlebus and adding a deck on the back for my bike. I always wanted to ride a motorcycle since I was a little kid. Now I do! It took a tragic loss of the love of my life to get me to finally register for the bike course in 2009. A few different bikes later and now its been 12 years of great experiences and yes, of course, going down in traffic. No way that would stop me from riding. I really hope we get a chance to meet out there, that's my plan, first to BC from ONT then south along the California coast. I never thought of a trailer and the bike before but you guys intrigue me. I also ride with me amazing little pooch, Zadie. She's so cool! Gonna start a channel of my own too. I am re inspired, thanx!

I had a 2009 FOH I bought new and I had it for about 10 years and I found that when the light would come on it was about the same amount as what you put in your tank. I have a much older bike now and I use a stick to see how much gas I have in there I guess that would be old-school😂

After watching Sterlings videos on cooking, I'd say you forgot a little bit of dirt. He eats well but I don't know sometimes...

Broken potato chips or corn chips are always delicious in tomato soup. I never eat tomato soup without potato chips in it.

Hi Rich, just a question: Does the Camper’s heim joint fits the same hitch pin as the Bushtec trailer? Keep the sunny side up. Pieter

wife and I ride 2 up on our 05 ultra. gas light came on riding hwy 31 going east. not long after leaving la pine, Oregon. last fuel up was in Bend, Oregon. we made it to the 395. heres this old tiny gas station, had a little hand written note will open at 1. we were there like 8:30. so we sat. we put in 5.2 gallons in a five gallon tank. rode south on the 395. maybe a half a mile. heres this Chevron station sign saying open 24/7. 🤣

I know your pain. Phone fell off when I hit a huge pothole today. I found it, but it was toast. Best of luck in your travels!

Thanks Greg. Yes it's so sad when we lose our toys. Well, I actually think a phone is probably more important than a camera. Sorry for your loss.

I love your videos, keep it up.
