Very helpful; was able to successfully repair five of the six motors I had that were on the fritz. Thank you! There is another version of the motor is that slightly different inside, but overall procedure here still works.
If that motor core is the size I think it is, I might try to replace it with an MTB Neo Rhino. It's a 12-volt 130 size motor purpose-made to power Nerf flywheel blasters as an upgrade, so even Lego GBC service likely won't push it as much as a high-crush Stryfe flywheel cage.
It does look to be a 130 and, honestly, I'd say your best bet for a raw power upgrade would be a brushless system for a Kyosho Mini-Z. Assuming the planetaries don't explode you're looking at LITERALLY enough torque to twist axle shafts on command.
@@ag6371 again i dont even know about how these motors work lol or what they do all i understand is that the best lego motor for speed is buwizz and best motor for torque is ev3 large
Is cutting back the wire and re-soldering how to fix the motor or is that a motor swap? I burned my motor out and am trying to see how to fix it. Edit-I just read the description and this is repairing the wire, how do you know that the wiring is the weak link?
don't know if you still care, but you can check the conductivity of the wires going into the motors by shorting them with no voltage, and if they aren't conductive its a bad connection or solder
Wszystko spoko, ale co w przypadku kilku takich napraw ? skracamy i skracamy a w końcu jest za krótki... kabel nie do wymiany bo z drugiej strony zgrzane na stałe... sam szukam rozwiązania...
I have te same problem with the motor stopping when you move te wiar. End I was testing my New lego technic car chassis V2 ( coming soon on my channal) so that realy sucks
huh, could give this thing some actual balls if you tear it apart and start buying motors for Mini-Zs. Could even go with a brushless setup if you want. Mini-Zs use the same form factor of motor but theirs have some actual grunt to them, rather than the gutless little generic hobby motor LEGO is using.
Shame about the annoying music, that you couldn't explain verbally what you were doing and what you found as this could have been a very informative video.

What are the specifications of the resistor? Found out that this part is broken.
this helped me fix my motor after a short time they died but I replaced them. Thanks
so... the LEGO motor isn't lego...? 😭
But they are strong
Sees weird motor thing: wow! That is official lego. Guy walks in room: so was galador.
(Jack Stone cries in the corner)
that looks like just any dc motor so why are they so expensive?
*130 brushed DC motor
hola, desde Chile...cómo se llama el cable? con que nombre lo puedo encontrar?
What is that mustard yellow piece called?
Capacitor
it's ceramic capacitor. it's used to reduce noise in electricity.
Extremely helpful, thank you ever so much. Does anyone know what the outer wires are for?
I'm glad I could help.
Outer motors are probably something to do with the receiver
@@ipad2264 yes that is probably what it is
yes

is there anywhere I could get 3 spare Lego M motor gears? (inside pieces)
0:18 what are those things called with the string and wheel.
Winch/pulley
Thank you,good job.
I pushed on the pins so hard that my screwdriver got stuck in them they are still not getting pushed in far enough. What do I do.
Press the undo button 🤣
Run of the mill 130 brushed DC motor used as the core with a fuse attached
The title should be called "inside the lego POWER FUNCTIONS M motor
Bruh this video was 3 years ago. No one cares cos that was the only existing M motor in Lego anyways

Jedyne co przychodzi mi do głowy, to zakup przewodu Lego 8886

very nice !
Thanks!
Inside the Lego motor is another motor
That's my brother
MINE WONT FREAKING OPEN AND ITS DESTROYED 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I CANT FONISH MY PROJECT IVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR A MONTH NOW, How do you buys these?
On eaby, bricklink or brickowl
Can you use this motor as a generator
Match two motors together
It's a very good idea if it works. I could make regenerative braking system with rechargeable batteries in my Lego Tesla Model 3
@@pmj_studio4065 Theres no free Energy, But yes you can use it as a generator
Thanks,my motor is now running again

0:49 I tried doing this to my motor and it broke
Me too just now lmao. I hate those stoppers u push in id do one then when i went to do the other it just lifted again
Very low frame
I would of mododified the motor while i could
