Excellent, interesting stuff Mat and Rich, covering lots of stuff. As you lads have brought up, two of the same guns having different favourite pellets. I've two (20 yard) ratting BSA R10 .177 set ups. One best pellet Air Arms 8.4gn, and the other best pellet is RWS supermag 9.3gn. Thanks for 40 minutes of beer drinking listening.
Hi Mat and Rich, once again another great podcast. I just wanted to comment on the Rifle pellets, I am using the Rifle Thunder in .177 which come in at 13.43 gr on my squirrel feeders. They are amazing pellets and my Daystate loves them. Great quality and give devastating results. Keep up the great work guys.
Thanks very much Richard. I haven't tried the Rifle Thunder pellets but was very pleased with the RTX pellets so will give them a try as well. Thanks for the tip and thanks for tuning in. We do it all again in a couple of weeks.
Once again I enjoyed the chat wit Mat and Rich. I would like to pose a question for your next POD CAST. Which of the under arm springers are better quality, at the 18 to 20 FP range or is the 12FP a preferred standard . What caliber provides the best results in a springer. Barrel length for optimum performance. The best type of scope to match with a springer at a mid range price. Weight is really not a concern but should be considered. Pellets in the mid to heavy range over 30 to 40 meters.
Good podcast cast totally agree with what you have said about gun quality i have a daystate wolverine r forester in 177 and a weirauch hw97kt in .22 and like them both quality wise tha daystate is far superior accuracy but the hw97kt is accurate for a springer if I do my part I enjoyed this video thanks guys 😂👍
Thanks very much David. You've certainly got for the best in both PCP and springer. Thanks for tuning in. We do it all again in a couple of weeks time.
Great presentation thanks ! To add fuel to the fire, I’ve pricey PCPs that actually prefer cheap pellets🤷🏻♂️ I’ve a RAW HM1000x sub 12 prefers H and N Excite Hammer to anything expensive, you just have to do the spade work sadly!
Another great vid guys . Very informative. Rich I noticed you have the replacement stock on the vixen .would you recommend this and does the cheek piece insert work .I have many guys but can't find a fault in the vixen .I have a zulus but getting the thermnight probably at the shooting show .see you there .👍
Hi Dave. The original butt stock/sleeve split unfortunately. I couldn't find anywhere that could sell me an original replacement and this one was recommended to me by folks on the AGT Vixen FB group. I think I bought it from eBay. It's very well made and does the trick. It has a screw out monopod thing which I don't use and to be honest I could do without it. But very reasonably priced and it meant I could carry on using the Vixen. And yes, totally with you, I can't fault the Vixen. It's a definite favourite and I shoot it all the time. It goes really well with the DNT ThermNight and if you do end up getting one I don't think you will be disappointed. Are you at the Yorkshire Shooting Show at Doncaster Racecourse this weekend?
No buddy .me and my son go to the british shooting show every year. Last year he told you he loved the brk ranger .you was so kind to give him tickets to try it on the range .👍👍
Enjoying the podcast guys! I have tried to subscribe to the magazine annual subscription from your October issue mag, it states on page 4 there is a gift available when you subscribe, to my disappointment I found out today that it’s actually a print error? Just thought I’d give you the heads up as I’m sure a lot of others will be doing the same thinking they are getting a bargain. Enjoying the podcast nonetheless, thanks.
I really like to watch you two guys just chew the cud about airguns , paraphenalia and pest control. I enjoy the guests but this is great stuff. The new all in one scope looks next level and a good idea to have. it beats pockets full of stuff jangling around and less round your neck. 👍
Hi Jay - thanks very much. Yes, its a slightly different format for us but we love a good natter. The challenge is getting it all cut down to 40 odd minutes! And yes, the DNT ThermNight is one hell of a piece of kit. Having been out with it a couple of times now I have got to understand it really well. It ticks so many boxes...
I felt like such an idiot. The thing is, I'm not great with technology so I'm deeply suspicious of anything that lights up and has buttons. It took me about three seconds to dismiss the ThermNight as faulty - I mean, how could I possibly miss? And then I had a think and realised that it was far more likely the fault lay with me (I have history). So a big relief when I realised what I'd done. The problem was that I zeroed it the day before and then spent most of the evening dicking around with all the buttons. It never occurred to me to check everything was where it should be when I finished. Thanks for watching.
with regard to using the wrong profile, I set all the profiles on one paricluar day night sight to the same data, therefore you cant make this mistake, the particular day night sight was on a dedicated air rifle and would not be used on another rfile
@@richsaunders6515 I have thought long and hard about the thermnight and as an entry level unit it is good value, but the thermal sensor resolution is quite low, having just sold an Aplex A50 T I have ordered a 4K Alpex as I am lucky enough to already own a thermal spotter
Me too and I don’t think you can beat one for spotting generally, but the ability to switch to thermal on the ThermNight if you need to quickly relocate a target without having to fish a hand held thermal out of pocket again is very handy.
Haven't seen you on utube for a while hopefully you are well matt 👍

Great questions. We'll look to cover these in an upcoming podcast. Thanks very much!

What trail can do you use Rich?
Hi Nick. I'm using a ZEISS Secacam and its superb. The monthly subscription for photos is really affordable too.
Those accidental profile swap outs are hilarious are t they !

Sorry to change the subject but I was wondering why we haven't seen much of Mark Ripley recently ?
Hi Ian. He's not been on the podcast before...but now you mention it, he'd make a great guest!

Yes, that would certainly work. However, I use the ThermNight on several different rifles (what could possibly go wrong!). Thanks for tuning in.
