  • Fatehpur Sikri is a quintessential part of the itinerary for all the tourists of Agra as it describes the history of Mughal Era between 1571 & 1585 AD.
When the Emperor Akbar realized that living in the city is impractical due to the shortage of water, he accepted the fact and moved the capital back to Agra.
This was a remarkable decision by any Emperor, who accepted his fault and declared Fatehpur Sikri as a sacred shrine for Sheikh Chisti.
Unlike in the modern times, the ruler thought for the better of his subjects and never committed such blunders in the future.
