Phenomenal show! Your hours and hours and hours and hours of hard work paid off once again! This concept and show was a refreshing surprise, and visual delight, all while staying true to Bucs precision and musicality. Well done!
The Reading Buccaneers have won 16 DCA championships: 1965 (DCA's first year), 1968, 1979, 1980, and all years from 2005-2018 except 2011 (Minnesota Brass) and 2016 (Cadets2), finishing second both times. From 1981 through 2004, they placed four times each at second and third in Finals, but they also missed Finals entirely in 1994 and 1995 (and in 1993, they were 11th in Finals). In the late 1990s-early 2000s, the leading corps were the now-defunct Syracuse Brigadiers (who won five titles in six years) and Empire Statesmen (who won three titles). Bucs have been defeated in competition ten times in 2005-2018: twice by Minnesota Brass in 2011, five times by Hawthorne Caballeros and once by Minnesota Brass in 2014 (Bucs finished third in Prelims before rebounding the next night), and twice by Cadets2 in 2016.
Hawthornje Caballeros passed them several times a few years back, lost Championship to them and Minn Brass, finished third, penalty broke second place tie with Brass. Won Prelims over the "Pack"
Sorry, Ronald Crowers, but you are incorrect. Your Googling didn't go deep enough. I personally saw Bucs lose to Cabs in 2014. At PRELIMS. As noted above, they lost to Cabs FIVE TIMES that year. But they came back to win at Finals. The best site for drum corps results is FromThePressbox.com and dcxmuseum.org.

Well, yeah, you are kind of right. When I marched with Reading, we had the two-valved G-bugle. That was what we played. The last time I went to a show, I saw euphoniums, slide trombones, and French horns. Not to mention four-valved tubas. I miss the old sound of the G-bugle. Hard to tune, not easy to arrange for, but, when done well, it had a unique sound that was quite musical. Now, we've got keyboards and amplification. I don't think it will be long before we see woodwinds out there. After all, George Hopkins of the Cadets has been pushing for saxophones for about ten years or so. March on, Balance in Blue. But I guess the old days are gone forever.
American Spirit you are absolutely right. If it looks like a brass band, sounds like a brass band and has brass band instruments, it must be a brass band. The current “brass bands” are entertaining and the members are talented but let’s stop calling them drum and bugle corps. Additionally, when the powers that be get their way and they add woodwinds, they will be “marching bands”. So please let the legacy of “drum and bugle corps” rest.
James Claydon - Blame the disgraced clown who moved the Cadets to Allentown, after nearly killing off Crossmen (WITH WHOM HE MARCHED) - his misanthropic vision of “drum and bugle corps for the future” eviscerated the heart, soul, and guts of what made drum corps, and whether that can ever be recovered remains to be seen ... as for Bucs, after winning 12 of 14, they are in sync with the adjudication, so crowd appeal will be the determining factor - if the crowd is unable to comprehend what is presented, they will disappear (personally, DCI will NEVER see another dime from me, until they acknowledge the disaster produced by following the siren song of that creep)
They're winning band competitions not wrong vehicle competitions it's a disgrace to the activity the shame how it evolved into something that we try to avoid earlier on but the crowds don't appreciate it they'll stop paying their already stopped showing up in competitions because they're bored they can't relate to the music I can relate to the props and dancing and all the other nonsense that goes on bobblehead drummers is pathetic sorry
props to the fourth tenor for breaking a head and pretending nothing was wrong the whole time

WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING
Instead of encouraging and supporting those who came after you in the activity, you choose to spread hate and negativity. How very sad.
Or perhaps the activity, like pretty much everything else, has evolved since the 1960s
Copying DCI music and dancing! Shame on you BUCS!
