When first hearing The Orb on Colin Dale's radio show in 1993, rushed out to buy the 12 inch called Crappage, Never Hurry a Murray. It's so far ahead for it's time and still ranks as a unique find at the time. Be young forever and you won't go far wrong from the eternally youthful one who never gets old.
I remember listening to this veri9n back in early 1990s, it stayed with me forever as a moment in time. A momentto reflect and reset. I am now 46 years old and a mother of 6. This album gronded me in reality and in dream
The long intro to this live version is what makes this song perfect to me. Even though i think all that religious nonsense is bullshit, it still can move me to tears how masterfully he blended all these ethereal and loopy sounds, the incredible bass of the heart beat, following what i can only assume is a recorded therapy session. God this song is perfection.
100% this, yes. “Is there any doctors in the house? Course there is, it’s all bollocks. Come up here my good friend. Hallelujah!” People believe that shit 😂😂 Majestic (the Millwall mix) is also perfect. Great comment
This inducted me into the whole scene....I'm 41 almost.......the double Live 93 recording takes me to the heavenly ecstasy place that unless there's somr act of God I will never find again....I'm a functional person but I crave those days I cannot simply release....maybe if I had a kid ....desperate 2 go back...even for 1 second
Those days are permanently etched in my memory and I long to go to events to this day but haven't been to an event for years! Those days were great!!!!!!!
I would give all my money away for just six months of that time again. (I’m not rich. It’s not as overblown as it sounds 😊) Now I think I’d probably be lucky to survive the night, just one night, ANY night, without seriously damaging my brain haha
I think you must be my twin or something...im 42 and functional but not happy. Life sucks now and I have prayed to bring those good days back. I bought this album when I finished high school in 1993 and just hearing Little Fluffy Clouds takes me back. Good friends, a good sound system and some good drugs. I miss it!! If you get back to that place let me know. I'd love to join you. Seriously, I need it.
Live at the Roundhouse Camden, London, this summer - Orbfest. Great set, but if we're honest everyone's a bit disappointed not to have heard "fluffy". They came on and did an encore, 12 mins, and it was only about half way through we all started realising it was "Fluffy". Indescribable. Just built and built in waves. One of the best-natured gigs I've ever been to, as well.
I use to listen to this constantly when I was young. A decade or more later, I just happened to watch "Once Upon a time in the West" and I lost my freakin' mind when he started playing that harmonica sample. It might have been the first time I learned what a sample was :)
let me tell you, in a planetarium with a 60kW surround system turned to 11, stoned off your gourd with the star projector spinning slowly, it is glorious.
Oh wow. I had no concept of "prosperity gospel" growing up and spent all this time thinking this was a parody of faith healing done in a super deadpan way (in fairness, Chris Morris was not far off fame and recognition at this point), it sounded so much like they were singing the praises of the morphine drip's effectiveness at killing the pain as if it was unknowable magic. To finally remember to google what the sample is, well it's a revelation.
I was watching CBN on cable at my folks place one day & this episode of Benny Hinn came on..... I almost lost my mind. This Orb album is one of the handful of highwater marks in all of techno/electronic music. To hear what the Orb was doing with late 80's/ early 90's tech still boggle my mind. Orb live 93, orbus terrerum & Orblivion hold up better than 95% of music from that time.
The original is a masterpiece, but I always felt like it was obligatorily shoe-horned into "Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld," grafted onto the start, so to speak, before the real proceedings happen. This version sounds more like what should have featured on that debut album. Wonderful rework; love the extended samples from the Rickie Lee Jones interview. :-)
sw1pe --- This version is the best one to listen to with headphones. The way the sounds seems to travel in circles around your head, it's almost like it's what stereo was invented for.
Never knew a thing about The Orb or this song. Driving I-10 from California to New Orleans via Arizona and it came on Pandora. Beautiful day as exactly described by Ricky Lee Jones. Little fluffy clouds enhanced by listening to Little Fluffy Clouds....
This sounds exceptional in a modern set of IEMs... brings me back to the mid-90s in my shitty east village apartment, with friends, partaking in... damn I forget.

Hard to say, but it's definitely Benny Hinn. What I wanna know is what is that background music at the beginning. Was that part of the sermon or added. Would love to track that down.
Absolutely one of the GREATEST songs in any genre ever. Everytime I hear this song I am transported back to when I was happy in life, and young....lol

I hope you are still a bit happy. ♥️

🖐.....even older at 53y. This blows me away still. The Rickie Lee Jones sample... Iconic, spine tingling, genre defining for me.
Just brilliant. This defines the era it came from. Space rock.
The definitive version - the fog horn and when that bass kicks in....PURE Orb.
The long intro to this live version is what makes this song perfect to me. I was 16 when this came out. I remember that one drop of lsd and coming home and listening to this for the first time. Still gives me chills 😃

Happy 30th Birthday! This song and version has so many amazing memories and it still sounds so good xx

All the layers! All the everythings. Brilliant work from brilliant folk ✨
I would happily burst my eardrums to this

Glastonbury '93 sitting amongst 100's of others, boiling hot Sun - it felt/sounded like the sounds were coming from the Sky! fab

Iconic album of my university years. What a time....

It's beautiful, the most beautiful version as a matter of fact.

HAAALELUJAH!
I’ve still got the double CD of this. Hard to find online, same as the Deluxe version of Adventures. Genius
Snap - tucked away in the attic mine.

I love that you can now carry round your entire CD collection and it weighs nothing. Sometimes technology is amazing 👍🏻

“Where are those doctors?!”
Being nice little enablers to corrupt government, media and Big Pharma in particular would be my guess….
Inside his stomach...inside his stomach and all the pain is gone.

Any pain?
Alleluia!!
Too much pain.
Love this, always have! Anyone know where they got the "morphine drip" sample in the intro?
The early 90s was a great time to be alive. Heard this version first before the original. Seems loopier
GOOD TAPE I HAD
Any pain? Any pain?
Shades of Charles Bronson on mouth organ from Once upon a time in the West awesome if he had appeared on stage with them.
