Welcome to my channel! I'm so happy you're here and I hope you enjoy! I started a knitting podcast because I didn't see many podcasts hosted by plus size knitters and wanted more representation for us, so why not make one myself?

I have been waiting for this with baited breath! I think I’m going to frog a languishing tank I’m working up in coboo yarn and knit up a botanical!
I also can’t say how much it means to have a trust worthy person reviewing and talking about size inclusive patters. I also sew, and have really come up against so many pattern grading issues.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🥹 It really means a lot to me to be able to share my experiences to hopefully help others. Coboo would be a perfect yarn for a Botanical Tee!!! 😍
Whitney, I appreciate your content so much. I've just been knitting for a short time, lots of hats and scarves and just two sweaters. I'm enjoying the process of figuring out patterns and sizing and fit, but it can also be a bit daunting, especially for plus size garments. Hearing about your project journeys is very helpful but also, I think that watching your videos has been inspirational in terms of owning one's body and shape, feeling knit-worthy and adventurous in trying styles that I may have thought I shouldn't due to my size. You are a unique voice in the "knitosphere" and your videos are particularly well-done so very enjoyable to watch. Thank you for all of your efforts and brave transparency.
I also love your round-up videos and LOVED Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. Best book I've read in awhile.
Thank you so much for your lovely words 🥰 I’m SO happy you feel inspired to try more patterns! Every body is knitworthy and nothing should hold you back from making anything you want! 😃
Hi Whitney I’ve just found you on Instagram & was so happy to see you make videos too! I think we are about the same size & it’s so lovely to see someone who looks like me knitting lots of lovely things! I’m going to watch more of your videos & can’t wait to see everything when you get married! Just wanted to say thank you for making videos & how nice it is to see someone who looks like me!! Thank you!!
Awww thank you so much! Welcome! I hope you like my videos and I’m so happy to share my experiences making lovely (and not-so-lovely) patterns 😁
Humorous, honest, entertaining, and informative. What more can one want!
Aww thank you so much 😍
Thank you SO MUCH for reviewing patterns for plus sizes and for having the courage (for lack of another word) to make a video about it because everyone else is so afraid of giving this feedback and saving us hours of hard work on our hands. I knit because I enjoy the craft but also because it's so important for me to make something that FITS ME and that I like. It's incredibly frustrating when I do my due diligence to find a pattern, buy it, make it, then find that it fits like a moomoo because it wasn't graded.
Designers should definitely disclose when patterns aren't graded across sizes and offer the pattern for free to receive FREE valuable feedback.
Anyway. Thank you so much. I have sooooo many of her patterns in my library 😢.
Thank you so much! Yes, it was a tough lesson to learn, which is why it’s so important to me to share my honest experience 😊
Well done on getting your perfect top for your bridal tea. Must knit a Soufflé top. The long sleeve one will be so lovely on you too. Your honesty with the patterns is really helpful.
Thank you! I’m so glad you find it helpful 😊
Thank you for sharing an honest review of the Fable knitwear patterns. I’ve heard other reviews sharing issues with their patterns and I really appreciate it because it has made me realize that those patterns are not for me without having to make heavy modifications.
I’m so happy for you both!!! You’ll be a beautiful bride 👰♀️ ❤
Thank you for once again a great podcast episode. I wanted to tell you, that I really enjoy watching you talk about your knitting and also your approach to it all. I am a plus size knitter myself and it is really important to me to talk with other knitters like me. I feel there are not many podcasts out there who talk about knitting in plus sizes. I love how you name a cow a cow, but on top of that put so much focus in celebrating the awesomeness of your makes. I really love that about you and your podcast. So thank you for putting in the work, it truly is a gift for us ❤
Awww thank you so much for your kind words! Everything you said is exactly what I’m trying to do with my channel, so I’m thrilled that viewers such as yourself recognize that 🥰🥰🥰
That blue Soufflé is divine! I’m so glad it worked out for you. You’ll get so much wear from the Botanic Tee. What a great staple. I love the fit on you!
Whitney you looked beautiful in your Blue Soufflé Tee, Loved your Bridal Shower outfit. Thank you for sharing your knitting journey.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Love your blue soufflé, and the fit of the botanical tank is perfect for you, both look amazing. Thanks for sharing ❤️🧶x
Thank you 😊
Even though you had so much drama actually making and choosing the right pattern/ yarn for for bridal shower top, the blue soufle you wore looked absolutely gorgeous on you. The whole outfit looked so cohesive and in my opinion, just perfect for the occasion. ❤ I have the soufle on my list of patterns to make and I hope I enjoy it as much as you do yours.
It really was the perfect choice 🩵 I hope you love yours as much as I do mine ☺️
Absolutely love your light blue knit. You look great in that color. Congratulations for your next milestone in your life. I enjoy all your videos. Enjoy
Thank you!
The blue soufflé is so pretty and so bridal!
I really enjoyed this episode, Whitney! I think, as makers, it's important to talk about not just the positive, but to also bring attention to things that just dont work. As a plus size maker, it's so disappointing when a designer presents themselves as inclusive, but actually isn't. And I think that's an important thing to be mindful of, and I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about the bad stuff.
Also, I actually really like the look of a cropped and fitted Botanical Tee and it's got me thinking of maybe making one for myself 🤔. So many projects, so little time 😅
Thank you so much Alyssha! It was always my plan with my channel to provide honest reviews to help out other knitters like me who might struggle with finding patterns that fit them ☺️ I’m a fan of the cropped Botanical Tee too, and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it!
Oof, I was stressed out just hearing all the problems you had and the time crunch. I'm really glad it all worked out in the end. I really appreciate your honesty about patterns you have problems with. I don't yet have the skills (or patience) to know how to deal with issues like you've identified. I would have been so disappointed.
When I was first learning how to knit, I didn’t know how to deal with them either 😅 I frogged or donated many badly-fitting garments before I made one I loved. Since then, I’ve learned a bit more about what I like and what fits me well with every pattern I make 😊 You’ll get there too!
The sleeves on the blue sweater looks good. U have a good eye. That would be a good length for the pink one.
Thank you 🙂
Oh my goodness friend even though I have followed you bridal show top journey on Instagram I was feeling all the frustration and joy with you on this podcast! You looked beautiful as always!
Thank you for always giving honest reviews on patterns as always. As a plus size lady myself I find I just don’t finish or even start garments because I am so worried about fit!
Oh and I am working a wedding gift for you but I am not the fastest knitter. I will private message you on Instagram when I get it don’t so I can send out a package from Kentucky!
Thank you for another lovey podcast I love catching up with your making!!!
You are so incredibly sweet!!! That’s so kind of you, and thank you for your kind words, as always 🥰
I loved your outfit for your shower
You look so cute in Whitney !!!
All your knits are beautiful 😍
Thank you so much!
The Botanical Tee and the Souffle Tee both look great on you but I think the Souffle Tee is just so special, and even though it wasn't planned I love the little addition of white! I've seen a lot of brides 'something blue' be a pale blue button on the dress so I think its super sweet and fitting that your bridal shower top has a 'something white (or typical bridal colour)' included!
Hahaha! I like that idea 🩵 Thanks!
I have just looked at the Botanical Tee and my impulse is that l want it cropped and closer fitting like yours!
The best part about that pattern is that it goes surprisingly fast and it’s so easy to make more than one, so you could make a cropped close-fitting version AND a longer, looser version 😄
So sad you are frogging the pink one, it looks so good on you just as a top! Maybe finishing it with som icord edging would change your mind? But i feel your story. I never wear the knits i had a terrible time making..
And omg that ice blue color and the pattern is amazing!!
Thank you! I could just finish the edges, but I don’t love it and this special yarn deserves to be knitted into a top I love 💕
You work so HARD on your projects! I love it! It encourages me, that I’m not the only one, that sometimes has to work out a pattern like a puzzle.😅 that light blue soufflé top looks amazing on you! So beautiful! All of your knitting is beautiful! Thank you for the podcast and thank you for sharing.😊 59:33 I have to read that book ! I love plus size men, (especially my man I’m particular 😉)
I’m so glad you like the episode ☺️ to me the work to make something I truly love is always worth it and I’m happy to share that with others! I hope you like Weather Girl!
I feel bad for you! But I thought I’d fell you, both picot edge and scalloped edge are so easy and cute in crochet. Do you know how to do that? It’s not too hard to learn. Maybe that would work sometimes. Anyway happy wedding! Congratulations! 🍾🎈 😊❤
Thanks, but I’m not a crocheter. I’ve tried to learn, but I have a really hard time getting correct tension with the yarn in my left hand because I knit English style and I’m used to holding my yarn in my right hand 🙂
But your blue top and the third top are so pretty and flattering! Very nice! Do you think you can put the plant based tops in the dryer for a while?
the pink color looks so pretty on you! it's such a shame about the pattern(s), i hope one day you can find one that works for you and the yarn💕
I hope so too! 😊
I think ur pink sweater looks beautiful. I don't particularly like the sleeves. I would prefer sleeves be a little longer. I can't wear mohair! I would just wear it without sleeves and collar. It looks so good on u that way.
I never finished the first sleeve, so that’s not an indication of the proper length. I would have made them longer if I liked the top enough to finish it 🙂
I think the pressure and stress of the deadline ruined this process for you a bit. :( But every ordeal earns a lesson. Hopefully the cardigans go smoother! Maybe you can consider the tank for your wedding rehearsal / breakfast / honeymoon etc.
