Luv watching this show which I enjoyed in the early 90's when I wore similar styles in my 30's. Dave Ruprecht is always so exuberant and enjoyable to watch.
i wanna go grocery shopping in this day of age on a Saturday afternoon and pretend I'm on this show. blasting through aisles and furiously looking for an inflatable blow up bonus
Well if there's one solace to get out of watching all the 1991 episodes, it is intriguing to see all the different items used for the shopping list. This one seemed pretty easy to figure out. Those bonus clues though....dear God.
I used to watch this show when I was a little kid now I’m 26 and I miss watching this show now I can watch them on RUclips I can relive one of my favorite childhood shows
Hi! I’m a journalist working on an essay about Supermarket Sweep ahead of the 29th anniversary of the ‘90s version of the show hitting the airwaves (on Feb. 5). I was hoping to interview the individual or individuals behind this channel to get a better idea of what they like about the show. Please comment back if you are interested in talking. Thanks!
Nancy is one of the smartest shoppers I've ever seen in a sweep. Got the shopping list, then searched around for a bonus. Actual groceries can only get you so far... without the extras they're a waste of time. Too bad she wasn't a Vic Damone fan, though.....!
as much as I enjoy watching this show I realize that I am completely out of my element as far as wanting to compete on it. I would just be standing there, letting everyone have at it, while I had a panic attack haha But maybe that would just make for some good entertaining chaos haha
I am searching for a video of a 3-way tie at the very end. Can you tell me which episode it was? It should be teams of 2 women, 2 men and a married couple. Would love to find this!
No, it's not a tom-ah-toe, to-may-toe thing, but the "fey-ta" is just an anglo-american pronunciation factor that stands on its own. It's acceptable by some in society, but it's simply wrong unlike the two ways for tomato (one is UK English, the other is North American English).
It was 4 minutes, although for some odd reason, Supermarket Sweep fan pages on the internet don't mention this but they list the longest sweep time being a team with 3 minutes and 40 seconds. I don't remember their names of the 4 minutes team but it was a team, two Hispanic-descended men, one was studying English in university, the other was already in his career, something corporate or law. They competed in a '93 or 94 epsiode.
I don't ever remember any shoppers slamming into the food displays or each other. It would have been hilarious with the overhead announcer saying, "Clean up on aisle seven!"
@@TDH24Live Oddly the UK reboot didn't seem to make it a penalty, and it was as disastrous as you'd expect. Contestants were just flinging stuff everywhere
this has bugged me awhile now why does David say in not just this episode but many others When at 8:08 explaining how if they all get it they all get 20 seconds but then at 8:26 he says they would get half a minute
Why an Earth are you CLAPPING your hands all the time? I must jump over every clapping session. The worst is Wheel of Fortune where they clap hands even when the wheel is running and shout the largeat sum. Do they pay the spectators and contestants extra if they clap enough?
I went to a taping of Wheel once. They had us clap for 2 minutes before they even started recording the first episode. They then used the footage as an audience shot just before commercials. At first we were all excited: "YAY!!! WOOHOO!!!! GREAT!!!!" Toward the end, the novelty wore off: "Okay. Fine. Whatever." By then, we were more excited about being allowed to stop! :-)
The rare one-two punch of a hideous sweater and a somehow even more hideous polo shirt, the way only David can.
Not rare at all for Ruprecht 😉🤣 oddly enough though his sweater is actually LESS ugly than his usual fare
I used to watch this with my mom. R.I.P. Mom. I was a child when this show was on.
Sorry for your loss. 💔
Thank you for uploading this show! I used to watch it ALL the time. Brings back good ol memories!

Do you take a huge inflatable package of Kraft Mac & Cheese to the checkstand and ask for a $50 discount? :-)
I need a time machine so I can go back to this era. The nostalgia I feel is too much!

I love this show me and my grandma watched it together r.i.p grandma
Sorry for your loss. 💔
@@dorinriki Ty she passed away back in 2004
It's ok your grandma is watching this in heaven
wished u bring this show back i loved watching it
It's coming back October 18th on ABC at 8:00
@3:05 i love how all the gay couples are "friends that went to high school together". ah the 90s.
I love the SNL sketch that references the "best friends". I wonder if any gay couple ever actually introduced themselves as such on this show.
Even in 1991, a degree in the arts was worthless lol
Lmaoooo
Exactly

Check out David Ruprecht's 1920s style tennis sweater!!!!! LOL!!! :-)

Those ladies really know how to shop.

I've noticed that women do so much better than the men.
Best show ever a Shme it dont show on TV
Jesse Delatorre Get an antenna, it’s on Buzzr.
Buzzr is also on the free smart TV app Pluto TV (also avail for smartphones).
You can catch new episodes on ABC Sundays.

Squeeze it....squeeze the fun outta it yum fava as a kid
The Fun Fact sequiturs going in and out of break are so bizarre.
9:58 - Fey-ta? Uh, I think it's pronounced feh-ta. 🧀
Unless of course it's one of those toe-may-toe vs toe-mah-toe debates...lol 🍅

I hear David with a accent from London. Like from the movie "Mister Scrooge to See You".
I always wondered what was longest sweep time earned?

Can you upload Supermarket Sweep?
Have you considered uploading the episodes that got blocked to a google drive or something?
I thought the shopping list item was original pringles not sour cream team 2 got the wrong kind
I can’t even explain how exhilarating this show is to me.
I don't ever remember any shoppers slamming into the food displays or each other. It would have been hilarious with the overhead announcer saying, "Clean up on aisle seven!"
I've seen someone knock over some stuff at the front of the aisle. Which is a penalty.
@@TDH24Live Oddly the UK reboot didn't seem to make it a penalty, and it was as disastrous as you'd expect. Contestants were just flinging stuff everywhere
Khloe Kardashian is that you as Nancy?
Lol.
# 3 lemonade country time
JC got hosed with a broken cart
He dropped the turkey JC dropped it
Did Dave get dressed in the dark?
I kinda dread the 1991 episodes now. Low total price scores, lack of telling the product prices, the somewhat boring layout, and more
No super bonus, no candy, or bread. And you could only get $50 in the mini sweep not the extra $100.
this has bugged me awhile now why does David say in not just this episode but many others
When at 8:08 explaining how if they all get it they all get 20 seconds but then at 8:26 he says they would get half a minute
They get an "additional" 20 seconds. They get 10 seconds for being right, plus 20 seconds for being unanimous, for a total of 30 seconds.
@@port566Thank you for clarifying that. I was also confused about it.
Cassava
Those intros seem mad awkward
Ugh JC is running the sweep. Pathetic!!!!!!
