The "Spider Man needs to start saying the N word" slide was so fucking funny I have to wonder if Demi came up with that idea first and worked backwards to the rest of the presentation
There actually is an issue where Miles’ mask got torn and a RUclipsr made a video about him being a POC, how important it was to her. Miles was conflicted because he realizes the impact he can have, but he doesn’t want to be “Black Spider-Man”.
I always go back to that She Hulk's issue where Spiderman sues The Daily Planet and he says on the trial that the persecution by Jameson is because he's black.
I don't know if this was a fan comic or what, but I do remember a comic page where he's in court defending himself from JJ and his defense was "he hates me because I'm black," and he starts freaking out because he can't prove he isn't
Counterpoint: There was that one scene in Spider-man No Way Home where Jamie Foxx's Electro thought Andrew Garfield's spiderman was black, and he didn't need to say the N-word.
Theirs a comic where a young black kid from the projects has Spiderman as an imaginary friend and helps him feel brave, and when imaginary Spiderman takes his mask off, he's black, so it goes to show that all that matters is that Spiderman inspires people and if that means they see him as a their own race so be it as long as it gives them strength.
Andrew was the hood Spider-Man tho we all agree mans was showing up with black eyes to family dinner and juked then dunked on a kid so hard he broke the glass 😭
1) Because the overarching question was whether Spider-Man is invited to the cookout (at which there will probably be hot dogs) 2) Probably because he made it in a hurry with a slideshow template
This feels weird as fuck commenting as a white guy: being “invited to the cookout” means a white person that black people are cool with, basically saying they would invite them to a barbecue with their friends and family and their presence wouldnt be weird. Usually an ally to social causes, not stuck up and awkward, a funny and loose individual you would like to hang out with.
Can he use the C slur? Because objectively only women can use that and you can probably tell that he’s not one. But it could lead people to assume he identifies as a women. So?

demi's idea to write cards for grant is one of the funniest things ive ever seen, absolutely incredible
"Please stop interrupting" is genius
I will say: spider suits get torn to shreds *constantly.* Give it a week for some villain with claws to make the reveal.
Spider sense starts going off every time he passes a particularly sharp corner
This then starts a debate in the city if Spiderman is light skin or racist
And that's why a Spider-Man who says the N-word also has to wear blackbody, not just blackface, to complete the disguise LMAO
Venom symbiote under the suit

Loved this presentation! I just really wish Grant would stop interrupting him.
Right? And then immediately after this Grant tried to say the n-word 😔

Well you know us white people. We have to hear our own voices frequently or else we start to question if we really exist.
This man is a genius. I stood up clapping at this proposal.
This ALSO makes his secret identity more valuable too
Since now people would be wondering which kind of racist he is

That yellow suit is gorgeous
It really is, and he wears it so well.

If Spider-Man did this they’d have torn him apart on that train in the second movie.

i was so on board until i saw the last slide at which point i felt like i probably shouldve reserved judgement

Ah yes true equality, use all the slurs 🤣
Good point. Good point.
Does this mean that Miles Morales is obligated to use the N-word AND "Foo" at everyone he meets?
Um, actually! Miles Morales is seen constantly with his mask a a little bit off
Why does the slide have glizzies on it and why does the font make it look like a Facebook text post that’s a picture for some reason?
1) Because the overarching question was whether Spider-Man is invited to the cookout (at which there will probably be hot dogs)
