Direct Contract is about Asymmetrical Warfare; most other games are based on characters with higher-tech guns than the enemy to beat the adversaries; this is a clear advantage. Most weapons are almost the same specs for each classification in today's world, making most modern warfare asymmetrical. Your opposition will have the capability to kill you as much as you have the capabilities to fight them. Direct Contact is a team-based game on Special Forces groups worldwide, using Asymmetrical warfare and tactics. The enemy will communicate with other enemies and actively try to flank and kill you; we focus on many different disciplines of military tactics from intense CQB situations, considering room shapes and layout, and entry methods, to mid to long-range tactics.

We’ll see. Sound is Not good, story missing. I saw go full bore cod style story. We don’t need cinematic for story. Make it comprehensive. Make it dynamic. Give us more tactical freedom. Think outside the box tactically and DONT just check the modern fps boxes. Go further. Innovate.
This really looks like the precursor to the persistent global tactical and strategic MMO in my head where different countries fight each other and NPC's as part of factions and everything from ships, aircraft, troops, etc, can be be controlled by people or AI depending on who's online. Imagine calling in an airstrike on a mission and real life players are the ones getting the task to do it.

As an 11B veteran, I'm absolutely blown away with Ed's work. The visual effects, the body movements. Great work. Was that high ready and low ready I saw at the range? Would love to see the player do an automatic muzzle lower when a teammate crosses in front. Just lowers the barrel then quickly brings it back to the same sight picture as before. Amazing.
Looks great! At 18:15 during the airstrike the pilot would not call tower for permission to drop ordinance. Also he would call “pickle” or “rifle” , not “Fox 2”. Fox refers to air to air missiles. Pickle for air to ground bomb. Rifle for air to ground missile. Just some info for developers if they are looking for more realism.

As someone who has spent over 32k hours in Arma 3 alone - (mostly modding) and other related fps games - this looks impressive. Graphics aside the character animations and interactive UI elements seem pretty well fleshed out. Will most likely require a large studio to scale this up. Great work so far!

@13:50 be cool if this game gave you the option to abort a strike if you assess attack geometry will cause unwanted effects. Also would be cool if you could incorporate more control of CAS attack headings to maximize effects on target and ensure safety of the maneuver element. In this case, allowing the player to request a attack run parallel to the FLOT would have been a easy way to ensure no rounds would land on friendlies.
Kinda like with the bombing runs in cod where you can control where the lane goes

this is epic! one thing though. "Eagle 4, fox 2." in 17:10 means he's firing a heat seeking missile, not a air to ground ordinance. they'd say "pickle" for bomb release. the explosion looks mighty terrifying though.
Yeah, the AIM-9 is an air-to-air missile, and wouldn't be used for ground targets. Everything else looks pretty good for a pre-alpha, though! 👍

I got a feeling it would be hard to code but it would be interesting if those in the field could call for backup from those at the base if things went sideways. Holding out for a more experienced squad to arrive during a op gone bad would be quite the experience,if a little embarrassing. It could also help newer players as well, rookies tend to bite off more than they can chew. I have been said rookie before in Arma 3 and was bailed out by some ex-military guys, memorable moment and one hell of a motivation to get better.

Ed has done some great work with this!!!! The game looks beautiful.
One thing that is a bit off-putting for me is the ease at which it seems to be a target right environment. What I mean is, it seems that there are lots of fully visible bad guys giving you plenty to shoot at in game. In reality though, you seldom see them AND have enough time to take a slow well aimed shot at them. Often times it's "accuracy through volume" sort of fire that gets the job done. Also, you seldom get to actually see the target fall down, but rather you find their body later on to know that you got them. Often times you can't know for sure if YOU got them, or if they were hit effectively be someone else. The bad guys just don't seem to be very smart and they're obviously deaf. lol. Still though, it's gonna be a fun game to play. Great job Ed!!!
GLID that is so cool what your friend is doing with the weapons. Position of sights for grips shoulder stalk everything. And you said it affects play of the weapon. That's awesome. I've never seen a game do that. Modern warfare doesn't even do that and they make millions of dollars on there games . Keep up the good work Ed. We're all rooting for you and your game brother👍👍👍
Also the gun realism is fantastic, ADS with a scope is so realistic being able to see around you and only far in the actual scope.
Plenty of games have done that going back to the Unreal Red Orchestra mod back in ‘04 maybe even before that
They just need to have realistic gun sounds like they have in Tarkov. Tarkov has the best sounds I have ever heard so far. Squad does a pretty good job too

From a long time ARMA 3 fan this is Looking good. I’d prefer not to have the screen message of when an enemy is killed and you get XP. Nothing more tactical than not being sure you killed the bad dude in the house and have to go clear it. Promotes a real fear of what may be in the AO. It is looking good though. Well done. 👌

Can't wait to check this out. Suppressed rifle fire sound needs some changes. The aircraft calling back to tower or whatever script needs some changes. Just look up some jtac to aircraft comms examples and you have an idea. The immersion could be better is what I'm saying, but the play looks awesome.

fark me the graphics look realistic AS F. UE5 is mental! I like how the pistol is actually LOUD for once haha ..like actually loud gunshots unlike some other FPS just doesnt have that loudness like in real life. Also good to see the scope zooms in and not whole dam screen a swell hahaha well done lads looking forward to full release!

Slim chance...they cant really develop and produce consoles that would cost over $999, which is what it would take. they would lose a huge chunk of their customers as most parents wouldnt buy their kids PS7 that cost 1200 or their kids to play fortnite on

This is probably the best dense forest graphics Ive seen on any game
This looks great, all of the details are well thought out.
This game would probably benefit from some sort of soft role system, requiring teamwork and certain equipment to accomplish or help your mission (so there is benefit from assessing the mission and picking accordingly), eg radio operator in order for SL to use and call in air support. Medic role giving more sustainability to a squad in an extended fight, breacher for certain extraction missions etc etc. In my experience games like squad that promote role based teamwork really do work in improving teamplay.
Personally I would on an immersion level love to see almost everything from the UI also depicted within the game (so when UI is off you still get information, so a watch/compass on the wrist you can read when selected, physically check weapon for auto/semi auto, check mags, pull out scap of paper/map with brief and field mission map, when you open like a radio you could have an interface where you can select different types of support, damage / bleeding showing clearly, bleeds and shock damage and suppression in different ways so these effects feel impactful, for example having a heavy gunner blasting into a position greatly reduces enemy incoming fire and vice versa...
This game has come a long way credit to the developer, certainly on my wishlist.

I think it would be better if the exp gain appears at the end of a mission (either upon completion or death) instead of when you hit the target. That way you can't just rely on the exp notification to know if the enemy has been neutralized or not.

I wanna see some decent ai, maybe as separate elements engaging a village close by. Make it feel like you are only a part of the entire operation going on. Maybe they get overrun on occasion and you need to redirect to support.
Also if there are a lot of confirmed civilians, air support will get denied

Obviously a lot of work still needs to be done, but overall the game is looking incredible! My favorite feature that I noticed would have to be being able to choose WHERE on the rails you put your attachments. I can't think of any other game that does that! Incredible work ED.

Wow I was really impressed just by the seemingly small detail of adding different lasers for different teams etc. I would never have thought of that in a million years, such attention to detail makes me super excited for this game and cannot wait to but it someday! Will be keeping an eye on this for sure!!!

This game looks sick so far! obviously there are some bugs to work out like the AK floating down the hallway but like i love everything so far! Also ilove that you said your base was in an undisclosed location and then you pulled up the menu and it said Maryland haha, because i live there i was like "Holy shit i can joint JTF VIGIL for real!" hahahaha

Just wondering, will there be real time team up for quests like mmo rpg games or just the normal way like cod and other shooter games do? Like you know getting in base adding people in your party from there ik it is a tac military shooter but I think it will give more interactive.
The trees looks real to be honest and the sound effects is more like getting you a PTSD/hearing trauma on missile 💀.
They add some suppressor on sniper to conceal there position to buy time to get a reinforcement.
The flashlight looks cool and the laser is sick if he add some IRflashlight/Illuminator (did he already add that gadget?) to see the light in nvg's.

if you don't mind me saying i am planing to join the U.S marines to when i am the right age and to prepare my self i have been using reel life tactics in games like onward and they help me win the day in said games so all a have to say is thanks for the info on this sort of thing and keep the great videos coming
Tell ED that holographic reticles don't get that large when using magnifiers, that bugged me alot when you were using them on your eotech. If it is a 5x then it uses the wrong model because the G45 has it's turrets on the back with the ridges on the front, G33 vice-versa.
