    Doesn’t matter how it’s done. It took some ingenuity to design a rig like that to give the appearance of holding the shovel to support his weight. The moves he performs look flawless. And I don’t believe I could stand in the same spot like he does for more than 30 minutes. Fantastic Job.

      I don't think many choose this. About what I know, they live under bad circumstances, have to get up early in order to get a licence, always in the rival with other entertainers, musicians etc.
      You always have to rely on the people giving you money. If you don't make enough, you can't eat or buy another license to do your show.
      It is a very hard buisness and people doing it are usually poor and helpless and try to find a way to get to money in order to survive and live.
      I could be wrong tho, I'm just a RUclips comment, not a scientific study. I never met a real street performer, just what I heard and saw;)

      My only way of figuring this is the same way alien spaceships fling around......MAGNETS !!! He must have a BIG pair of 'em,well yea those two but I'm talking really ,really strong magnets in his boots,and under his bulky silver coat. Also that's why he has silver paint on everything cause it has metal in it. It's onto a guess. what do you think of my idea? It also looks a lot like magnets the way he flips horizontal and kind of sticks there.

    My theory is that he wears a climber's harness through his crotch, so he is essentially sitting all the time. He has a steel tube inside his left coat sleeve that attaches to the stub that's welded to the shovel handle, shown at 3:28. The top of the tube in his sleeve gets hooked to hinge attached to a steel frame that encircles his torso below his armpits. The hinge is probably just a round steel stub that gets slipped into a round socket. The climber's harness is hung from that encircling frame.
    I believe that he connected the tube in his sleeve to the frame around his chest at 3:58 in the video. Before that, he was moving his arm freely out to the side. After that, his arm only rotates forward and back.
    His center of gravity is below the pivot line, which is just below his arm pits. That means he has to muscle himself into the prone position, which must take some real strength.
    Knowing how it's done adds to the respect for the engineering involved. And it does not remove respect for how much strength it takes, or how uncomfortable it must be to hang there in that hot clothing.

      I agree. I also love that you acknowledge you have more respect for him after knowing how it's done. I'm the sort of fellow that wants to figure out magic tricks - this is the entertainment factor for me. I will never understand people that think this spoils the experience. Sorry, but I'm not content to be ignorant and pretend magic is real. Exercising your mind is a good thing. Truly appreciating the skill it takes to perform a trick can't happen unless you examine it.

    I hope your aware that the "magic" exists in the act. It also exists in the hearts and minds of little children that walk by. It exists for the person that is lonely and just wants to be noticed or notice something. The magic is also in the adults as they argue politely with the stranger next them about how is he doing that. And finally the magic is in the heart of the performer. He carries it with him anywhere he goes. (the magic) He keeps it alive in his act. If you still do not believe in his magic powers then answer one simple question. How many people and strangers did you make smile today? Because he does it every day for hundreds if not thousands of passers by. Thank you good sir.

    He has a mechanism attached to the Shovel handle. It moves with the motion of his arm. When hes putting the glove "away" hes locking / unlocking it in. His arm will either stay in a 90,45 or straight angle. This keeps his body balanced. I'm guessing it also helps relieve some stress by attaching said mechanism to his spine area. Besides that, I'm sure he has abnormal core and upper body strength.

    Regardless, you've got to be strong to do this! You can see him shaking from the strain when he spins down. I would have designed it so the bar goes up to the armpit support but continues across the back (hidden under the coat) and has another armpit support on the other side! Would be a lot more comfortable and a lot less strenuous!

    • @MrDextrator
      @MrDextrator 6 лет назад +13

      gremmiehodad I don’t think you can invent something and expect it to be functional, how are you supposed to hide the bar behind the jacket then? You would have to stand and let the girl dress you and when people see that its a scam it loses interest.

    • @SoulsteppersKrew
      @SoulsteppersKrew 6 лет назад +12

      Vuk Pantovic There's actually people using that method, instead of just being attached in their arms, it's also attached in the back and sometimes they have it where it's like a chair and it looks like the person is meditating in mid air. Use your imagination.
