With a cabover you were always aware you would be the first one at the crash site!! So you were always alert.
I spent many weeks and years in cabovers until I got my first "hood" in 1982. Second long nose in 1986 and
final new truck in 1990. Finally, three million miles was enough to call it a career. From the 1970s on, we saw
a lot of these NASCAR haulers going up and down the roads. Especially in all of the southeast states. Good
memories. Had lunch with the 43 crews several times. Thanks for bringing back the memories!!
State of the art at one time! 👌👌
Thank you so much for opening that time capsule from back to a time when nascar was really great.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was high class back in the day.
That is pretty cool. All the original stuff in the back. 👍🏻
Thanks for the walk through of this incredible piece of NASCAR history SL!
Wonderful video! Thank you for doing such a great job filming the interior of the L1000! There is very little information or all original examples out there of these trucks to view. The more the better! Lots of really cool history in the back of that truck as well that looks fairly untouched! Super cool stuff, thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for letting me see inside that time capsule! Good to see its in great shape!
I love hearing in the background some old southern boys talking about back in the day.
I seen this Hauler at Virginia International Raceway the weekend of August 22-25 it was awesome to see
Sweet history recall.
Super cool.
Amazing that it is still in one piece and in very good condition and with car and trailer😎 👍👍
Thanks for the look see!! Can't help but wonder how many other old race car haulers are still out there.
OMG - could you imagine going to Riverside in that thing in the early 70s. My back hurts just from looking at it.
Haha! No kidding.
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍🏁🏁👍
Thank you so very much for showing that. The history of that rig is mind boggling. It is so cool that it still exists and in such great condition.
Thanks again.
That is extremely cool!
#67 Buddy Arrington, King of the Independents!
I drove a 1966 Dodge with a 250 Cummings and 12 speed spicer.
Great video !
Ha! I got in a voice cameo. Lol
I seen big daddy in kc in the early 80s he had an old beatup 1ton pickup and a little enclosed trailer those old guy's did whatever it took to race compared to today
Sweet rig!
So true!
I wonder if it's a 250 Cummins or a 8V71 Detroit ?
Was that the truck sitting behind the Petty shop/museum
Now if you don't have a multi million dollar rig, sponsors, commercial deals etc. your a nobody. I'm sure all of it was restored, it's to nice.
