I’ve always wondered why there hasn’t been a single LRT proposal on El Camino. People have shown disinterest to buses as opposed to cars but will gladly ride a train…
I think the main obstacle currently is the portion of ECR from 2nd Ave in San Mateo, to Trousdale Dr in Burlingame where ECR narrows to 4 lanes (2 for each direction). This is also an issue for implementing dedicated bus lanes, though that could at least be worked around with a partial implementation that installs the bus lanes only on the wider portions of ECR, which is for better or for worse, most of the route. LRT would face a lot more opposition due to not having that option. And of course there's your usual concerns about cost and issues with NIMBYs.
it’s been gone since early 2020. they suspended the route due to insufficient operators. i’ve been told they really want to bring it back, but it’s not part of the reimagine samtrans project. maybe one day it’ll come back
No it does not need a bus plan. Your the first person who sees this as a problem. San Francisco did the same thing and just wasted a bunch of money for no reason and it went 10 times over budget.
Disagree. Bus experience is phenomenal on Van Ness Ave. Costs too much but the infrastructure beautified Van Ness, improved pedestrian safety on the corridor and upgraded old infrastructure. It was a much larger project than just a faster bus. That said - the entire Samtrans bus network has lower ridership than the lines using the Van Ness BRT lines.
Ridership on SamTrans I believe is not as high as Muni’s, Golden Gate Ferry and Transit or Santa Clara VTA, that’s why I see their buses near empty on some its routes
This is such a well-researched video. I'm glad i found your channel!
Thanks. I'm still in the process of making more. I like your channel a lot too.

Is ECR Rapid not around anymore?

Because of low ridership
They Ned to stop at Hayward park because of the bridge.

She's trying to hard to pronounce words. It's annoying.
Then don't watch, simple.
