And how he put just the right wraps on the rope to gently and smoothly come to rest and then opened the gate to help passengers off the vessel.

When a boat rope snaps back, it can travel at speeds of over 1,200 kilometers per hour, which is faster than the speed of sound. This is due to the sudden recoil of a mooring line that has failed under tension. The force of a snapped back rope can be enough to kill a crew member who is standing in the snap back zone.
@@gearswarrior902 Are you serious?! The rope is at best 5 feet long. I tie up cruise ships and cargo ships in the Port of Vancouver. I know my sh!t. I've only seen one serious line recoil on a 2" thick line stretched about 200' between the ship and dock. There isn't any doubt that calculations have been made and this rope's ratings are considered before purchase. Yes in some cases people do not follow safety guidelines and things happen. The rope is by far the weakest link and justly so. For this can easily be replaced if and when that time comes. Which unless there is an order to change out at certain dates this would be still in use for years to come. I think the point of the video was to show how this young man had his job down pat. And how he put just the right wraps on the rope to gently and smoothly come to rest and then opened the gate to help passengers off the vessel.

Only a Rocket Scientist, Neurosurgeon, Archaeologist, Stem Cell Scientist, Lawyer, Architect, Bridge Builder, Jet Pilot, Heart Surgeon, NASA Administrator, Marine Biologist would stand behind stretching ship rope in the “snapping zone”
😂😂😂 or a jew
@@alialioxynfree3905 yikes
If it’s not a large ship, there’s minimal danger
Kkkkkkkkkk

Re: "the rope will never let go" ... mmmmmm. The noise that it was making tells me otherwise...that was nearing its limits...
He's done that a 1000 times before❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a definition of “may the force be with you”
Why so awesome and mysterious for you people. Normal ferry tie up, securement and then deboarding...
It's the tension in the rope, if it snaps someone is going to be seriously hurt or even killed. There are children standing there.
No one was near but it took out a dockside voltage panel, a life ring stand and made a huge dent in the line crew's truck..... Learn about what you are talking about.
@@Ghostontherun There is almost no tension on that strong rope. They do this every day and many times a day.....
@@panther105 Just because the rope is much much stronger than the tension, that doesnt mean "there is almost no tension on the strong rope"
Tension is a force. Force doesn't disappear just because something its exerted on something strong.
Why is this so effortlessly attractive?
