But those are impossible to follow. It's a different take when you say he fell in love at first sight. He was so rude when she fell from stage. She did look beautiful in that scene. Because of her get-up she didn't come across as beautiful to me. Looked better in later episodes. Also sometimes the writing is clumsy. On the whole it's still weird for me that a Harvard pass out fell for an unsophisticated girl like her. She comes across as really uneducated.

The writer depicted Khushi as a brave girl who could take a stand for herself, but surprisingly, with almost zero level of English knowledge!!! I mean, as far as I know, in India, even in schools, English is taught as a second language.

People change and he wasn't like this at first...his traumatizing past is the culprit...and later in the story he changes for good. And with all those difficult confrontation with Khushi in disastrous and unfortunate situation made him misunderstand her.
He basically wanted to break her confidence, so that she could accept her defeat, but she stood strong on her ground, which is why he couldn't resist falling in love with her, she basically broke all the walls which he built in his heart since his troubled childhood. While he made sure nobody stands to him with his anger.
