How appropriate... on a Friday on nr 13 (see house) having to pick up leaves that people should clean up THEMSELVES!! You are amazing that you did that, cause many would tell the customer to FIRST clean that themselves... You are a true professional and it actually is difficult seeing you having to do this. Dang! You are the BEST Ollie!
I dont think they EVER cleaned those drains themselves!!

@@darkwater72 thats why it is a poor design. Why have something that can get so messed up with a lack of cleaning it all the time. Looks like a ton of leaves and dirt goes down there every rain storm so it needs constant attention. A true professional, getting the job done even if it’s not really something they needed you for. Hey, If one of my clients pays my $125/hr consulting rate to sweep the floor and take out trash, I handle it. I probably will not be as good or fast as someone who does that professionally for a tenth the cost. And if it’s not worth my time I’ll call in someone for $15/hr to do it for me and then I get paid to drink coffee.
But if the customer has a problem and is willing to pay for the solution there is no reason to not be a professional.

Incredible! I hope the client pays you also for removing the leaves and clearing the gutter? Although that would have been his job.
Anyway, you're doing your best, as always. 👍 All good❣️

Ollie, I think you have a fixed price for clearing blockages. I hope you have in the fine print "except if I have to remove your accumulated rubbish".

The way I see this is Oli gets free nutrient rich dirt and leaves for compost! You should definitely start a garden at your own if you haven't sir!

This is typical Sydney, nobody cleans up the leaves and shit, waiting for someone else to come along and do it. THEN WHEN THE DRAINS BLOCK THEY CALL A PLUMBER KNOWING HE WILL DO IT!

You went above and beyond on that job. I hope you charged extra for bagging those leaves, digging out that long catch basin, and then cleaning that mess up at the end. That is a terrible system that has for getting rid of rain water, especially with that down sloping driveway. I live in a building of 8 units. The downspouts from the roof gutters drain into 4-inch PVC pipes that go nowhere, except into a pile of rocks. Whenever it rains, the water shoots out of those pipes like geysers. Most of us have rerouted the downspouts so the water runs onto the ground instead.

    The best dinnertime/breakfast entertainment around!
Whats next for these people though? One of your compatriots installs pipes in their drainage or you just tell them to maintain it?

That drain's design will provide clean out work for generations. No way to keep dirt and leaves from clogging.
