As a G&S fan for 66 years, this is one of the best versions of this trio I have ever seen.

      I concur.

I have to agree. I've seen another version I quoted loved, but the silliness in this one just hits spot on

Brilliant. This epitomises the humour of Gilbert & Sullivan and the flexibility of the repeat repeat repeat repeat encore. Made my day, thank you!

This deserves 10 times the likes (thumbs up) and not a single dislike (thumbs down).

Richard Sheldon ran the Opera A La Carte company out of Los Angeles for over 40 years, this collaboration with Rogue Opera using the OALC sets, costumes and Richard's traditional staging, very much like the old D'Oyly Carte Company. OALC toured across America many times, but surprisingly little is on record of the company on video. As one who was part of that for over 30 years, I am grateful to see the Rogue Opera performances shared here by tommyopera. It preserves the productions, blocking and Richard's magnificent talents. Much appreciated!

I once saw Sheldon and OALC do Mikado sometime in the late seventies or early eighties. It was terrific!

I was with OALC from 1990 - 2000. Brings back fond memories. RIP Richard Sheldon.

It is nice to see that the old D'Oyly Carte stage business still survives in amateur and semi-professional productions...

It is quite fast but the "clowning" is very much in character.

I think it could stand to be much faster.

Cheer up, for the Savoy Theatre is not dark and it has hosted G&S operettas recently. For example, 2 runs of HMS Pinafore since 2000.

Have to keep it alive somehow. How terrible that the Savoy is forever dark :(

Thomas, this 7m 11s makes my day each time I watch it. I keep coming back to it when I feel flat. Thank you to you, Patricia and Richard for giving us such joy.

The SJP doesn't have the voice, but the others do!
Pretty much a carbon copy of the tired old Carte business.
