Depends, for Google account authentication you can use multiple 2nd factors so if you don't have your key you can authenticate through text message code, Google authen app, another device logged into your account, etc.

Without it you cannot log in. When you go to login into Android or IOS you login as normal and that's it. Also this video states nothing on how to secure "Android or IOS" with this key. Yes it will protect your login for the account associated to the device but secure the device. No it doesn't.

The reason I'm asking is because my company want a solution without to have to ask the employees to install any app on there phones
No software needed. I use the nano USB-C with my work laptop and it works great too.

iCloud account = iOS
Google account = Android
