    The colour green was used in Ireland back in the 1600s to represent the Catholic landowners who were rising up against the English crown, not because the Irish ate grass. Ireland’s history doesn’t start and end at the famine, it’s a lot more complex and interesting. Even now orange represents Protestant, and green represents Catholic, hence the Catholic St Patrick is associated with green

    • @carrorallison7656
      @carrorallison7656 6 дней назад +2

      Blue was the first colour associated with St. Patrick.

    • @Vonononie
      @Vonononie 6 дней назад +4

      @@carrorallison7656 true, but the use of Azure Blue was also tied up with English and Scottish symbolisms of claims (it’s still used on English coats of arms today). As the Irish independence movement progressed the Catholic green became a symbol of independence so became associated with the national saint (and the flag). But it’s much more complex than that and the various symbols and colours used in England and Ireland over the centuries would need multiple books.
      I really wanted to make the point that the green represents Catholics (and independence), not eating grass

It is called not wasting food .Life lessons that have never let me down over the years .I have never been squeamish about the food I eat . It was sacred to and considered a favourite of Min, the god of fertility because the species of lettuce that they ate would ooze a white, milky substance when it was cut. For another myth around lettuce and its properties, look up the striving of Set and Horus.

    Mike Sir, love your vids, if I may request a vid produced by you about Communistic Poland, the history of that country was DARK, I MEAN DARK....I just wish younger generation (especially Alpha gen) to see what a person like myself experience growing up, so hopefully they appreciate democracy and freedom, (and freedom isn't Free. I am Canadian Airborne Veteran went to SandBox to fight for freedom. ) and so recognizing the all services, food, clothing etc. Is given to them..... I really am comprehensive about they taking care of me when I am Sinior citizen...Thank you so much for your intellectual input of all the things we take it for granted...

    I don’t even care for modern charcuterie. The traditional meats used in the great party food are too fatty and too salty. Since having a heart stent put in they are no-no’s. The other items like cheeses, olives, salty nuts and anything else with those 2 ingredients makes it off limits. As for the original? Not on your list…er…life!! Before I ate something like that I’ll go keep the squirrels and deer company and eat what they eat!

    • @erinmalone2669
      @erinmalone2669 2 дня назад

      Sugar as a concept does not make people fat, but the way it is incorporated into everything that doesn’t need to have. It means many extra grams of carbohydrates that we do not need to be consuming. Corn is heavily subsidized in America and is very cheap and it is made into, high fructose corn syrup, which is added to a lot of food because it is so cheap. The over consumption, and the unaware consumption of sugar does make people fat because we’re eating way more calories than we should be for the same dish if it were served as originally written in its recipe

      Nope. Gonna go with science over religion. Not everyone uses Jesus for their timelines, so I feel more comfortable using the scientific BCE/CE over BC/AD. Why does it matter what I use? I'm not telling you you can't use whatever you want. Why do you BC/AD people get so upset when someone else doesn't use it? It happens constantly. Is it hurting you when someone uses BCE/CE? You stick to yours, I'll stick to mine.
