My memories go back to the early years: 1952-58 at South Melbourne Market. No other style comes near this one for enjoyment. The vans are as iconic as the product.

"Are these donuts worth lining up for?" Well there's a line so...YES

I think that in the 1980's I've had their doughnuts?! They either the jam filled variants with the icing sugar all over them or most likely the long Spanish doughnuts?!..Can't quite remember as it around in 1988 or 89 when I had them as a kid. When I went to Vic Market sometime last year in 2019, I didn't even see that van!!! It was the first time that I've never seen it after a near 32 years of going to that market but Vic Market has been in alot of trouble in these times...Kinda sad but expected.

I remember these from when I was a child. We were a big family and they were as cheap as chips. Basically it is sweetened dough, deep fried and then some jam injected. I haven't bought them since and don't miss them in the least.
