I feel what makes Crusty such an interesting character is his contrast to Shiroe. Shiroe is a strategist through and through. He is extremely smart, thinks outside the box and is constantly searching for new information to add to his arsenal. His main intelligence weak point is that of understanding the core of people. He has a great grasp on understanding how people think in a business or combat setting, but understanding how others feel is difficult to him. That is why he has always been surprised when Naotsugu, Nyanta, or Akatsuki are so trusting of him and willing to follow his lead. On the other hand Crusty is a true guild leader. He is powerful, understands how the game really works, but he is also a people person. He is able to understand the basic wants of the people around him by reading their social queues. He was able to understand what type of person Lenessia is very easily and immediately switches up his personality when around the Knights, Nobles, and other woman. This is probably why he was so successful in developing Akihabara's largest guild. He understands his people and motivates them through his strong charisma and understanding of others.
I do like that all the guild leaders, have their own niche, Shiro is amazing at coming up with plans and discussions, then you got Crusty who's good at understanding and navigating people to get what is best for the adventurers, each has their own sorta specialty that just makes everything work, in true MMORPG fashion, this show also does world lore and character development so well
So I never got the whole NPC thing like doesn’t that mean non playable character that’s background characters for like video games and only for video games?! I don’t know I guess I’m getting old or I just don’t care for this modern talk at all
@Skyse2993 NPC is non-player character You got the gist of it, they're the characters within the game world that give players quests, run stores, populate towns as background characters, etc. A big point of this show is how in the case of getting trapped in the game, how players and npc would interact given that the npcs are now real people who are just from this world as opposed to just some lines of code.
I feel like it was an intentional move. The nobility, and seemingly most of the PotL, are all humans, or human-adjacent; thus, they sent an all-human entourage. When you're trying to establish friendly relations, you do what you can to be as relatable as possible.

I love Crusty's and the princess' dynamic.
Krusty Literally living out the plot of "A Knight's Tale" with the princess
The Crust is smooth
Honestly i kind of like Lenessia...she gave us a huge npc development.
She is one of my favorite characters in the series, nice subversion of the princess trope, plus that development.

@@Skye2993 as a slang, npc can also means someone who can't act on his own free will
