Paul Steinhardt is one of my favorite physicists when it comes to cosmology! love hearing his lectures. thanks APCTP for the upload.

I heard a theoretical physicist blame experimental physicists for not proving string theory. It is like a biologist blaming a farmer for not proving the existence of unicorns.

@13:00 the string theorists have it backwards it seems to me. The Landscape multiverse is not empirically confirmable at present, but if string theory were shown to be correct _by other means_ then this would constitute evidence in favour of Landscape cosmology. So there's no reason to be "frustrated," other than that we lack the experiments to validate string theories. If Calibi-Yau dimensions are "real" then someday we will be able to detect them, even if only indirectly. (I suspect M-theory is wrong for other [topological consideration] reasons, but if there ever is evidence that more than 4 spacetime dimensions exist I'd be fine with it, as far as testing it goes.)

Actually the video confirming specific type of string theory including violation of null energy cond
Paul uses string theory as extras dimensions of membranes in cyclic models
And the idea is to pick up the string theory for dark energy quintessential form thanks God for beautiful subtlety

If measurement of dark energy creation is currently constant, as space expands, then it may be that our region of space-time is contracting. If so, measurement of photons from high red shift quasars may be evidence of quantum shell jumps in gravity acceleration of distant energy. This could lead one to state that dark matter is unnecessary to account for galaxy rotational anomalies especially if there have been four or five quantum gravitational steps since the tiny bang. Remember to account for the notion that our local measurement instrumentation use atoms at a relatively different gravitational acceleration level.
