The legendary 17 second scream!! I'm here for it and I second the A Place for My Head Live in Texas, the beginning scream/screech Chester does is killer!
People never give enough credit to their drummer, Rob Bourdon. My man is a goddamn drum machine, he's so fucking tight. His beats really make the whole rap/rock combo work
I love Linkin Park SO much - I listened to Hybrid Theory every day my entire senior year in high school - this is when I really feel in love with the rock/rap sub-genre of music.
im so gutted that i cant do first time reactions to linkin park as im a day one fan! but love seeing other people find them and get blown away by chesters screaming ability.... IF YOU WANT HEAVY.....GIVEN UP is your next song linkin park are so damn versatile as you will discover, great respectful review man!! Lee.
R.I.P Chester, the live performance of Faint and Given Up at the Rock am Ring 2007 is epic. Chester's legendery 17sec scream he does in the performance of Given Up is epic. Mad Love ❤
Papercuts is a bangin song that you should check out as well. But definitely one more light is a must. “1 can save millions, but millions can’t save 1”
Chester’s signature sound isn’t that growl in the ‘No, hear me out now…’ part. It’s his ability to ‘scream’ and sing at the same time. His high, gravelly, in-tune scream is something that’s unique to him. You hear it in the chorus here. You also hear it in the chorus to ‘Numb’ which is screamed but completely in tune.
One Step Closer was the first song I ever heard from them. The entire Hybrid theory album is dope - Papercut and A Place For My Head are some favorites
You should check out the liver version of this....Linkin Park - Faint (Live at Rock Am Ring 2007) [BEST QUALITY - DIGITALLY REMASTERED]...the intensity of Chester's voice live is mind blowing
Mike is part of Fort Minor, he has a nice singing voice, plays the piano, among other things and raps. Chester gave us the soft smooth voice of an Angel and the insane ability to scream like a demon with everything in between .... Linkin Park's cover of Rolling In The Deep is wildly amazing. It's a healthy vocal fry scream according to The Charismatic Voice - Elizabeth. You need to check out some of the live performances, I love Leave Out All The Rest live at Milton Keynes, A Place For My Head and Somewhere I Belong both from Live in Texas.
U should react to "From the inside", maybe their most complex song. U have everything, angelic voice, vocal fry, mikes magic, beats and destruction, and the video is godlike...
I managed to acquire a bootleg DVD of their set while I was in Iraq and it was pure 🔥 the most pit had to be a hundred meters wide swirling like a tornado.
Linkin Park was like the voice I never had growing up. My inner child would scream right along with Chester. The lyrics to every LP song seemed to say what I wanted to say. This band has helped so many people through so much pain. Thank you for the reactions.
Linkin Park - A place for my head(live in texas) is an absolute must. Any song from the Live in Texas album goes way harder then their studio tracks. ❤
1st Respect & ❤ Chester RIP brother. 2nd Anyone else believe perfect follow up is Giving Up??? BlackPegaPebbles gonna be blown away. As are we every time we hear it.
One more light is soooo deep Castle of glass is a song that to me stands on its own as next level and One step closer is also an all time favorite of mine. Do all 3 bro fr fr
on may 18th 2017 Chris Cornell (singer from Sound Garden and Audioslave) ended his own life. he was a life long mentor to Chester. Chester took the loss super hard on top of other mental health stuff he'd been dealing with for his whole life. july 20 2017 just 2 months later on Chris' birthday Chester took his own life. rest in peace Chester. we always loved you and we always will
Their stage show was amazing. They were my first concert and few have come close since. Chester once broke his arm on stage and refused to leave until he completed the set. The man was a legend who gave it all to his fans.
I love them so much! I'm 61, and I would have their music roaring in my mini van, lol, bass banging. I'd pull up to the stop light people would turn and look, expecting a kid, and here I am, mini van Momma rappin and screaming Linkin Park songs. Very cathartic!! 😂😂🎉
Missing the wave is an understatement. They were a hit machine. Dropping them one after another. Words can’t describe how their music helped a generation
This was the first cd I ever owned when I was 14. I listened to this album non stop for 9 months until I got a job. This is one of the most iconic albums for people born 1990 and after Great reaction Black Pegasus Stay safe bro we love you here in Australia
Hands Held High is an emotional hip hop joint from Linkin Park that will deeply connect to you, knowing your beliefs on society. Highly recommend checking it out.
I've watched quite a few of your reactions now. While not encyclopedic, your knowledge of music taps in to each facet addressed in each song you react to. Your authenticity, charisma, and honest attempt at taking in new genres and bands has lead to me consuming your content and ultimitly today, subscribing. Thanks for what you do and the way you do it.
Linkin Park Fun Fact. Mike Shinoda was one of the creators of Linkin Park, Chester joined later. The record company wanted to get rid of Mike, during the first album.
Rakim's verse on "Guilty All The Same" by LP is one of the most slept-on rap verses ever imo. He rhymes basically every line ending with "guilty" or "same", and the lyrical message is perfect.
They came out senior year for me. One of my friends tuned me into them and ever since, I've been a fan. Their music echoes how I felt during the time of each release.
Given up, castle of glass, papercut, one more light are a few Linkin Park songs that you need to listen to but there is so many great songs I can’t wait to see you fall down this rabbit hole
My only regret in life is that i didnt see LP live. They played a big part in shinning a light on a tough time in my life, i had cancer when i was young. I made friends with a kid on my ward and we used to sing along to In the end … unfortunately he passed away one evening, i wont ever forget the screams of pain from his mum. Im sure he is still singing along to LP somewhere
Best linkin park songs in my opinion. Breaking the habit, lost, qwerty, easier to run, pushing me away, given up, one step closer, victimized, castle of glass.
You have GOT to check out “Breaking the Habit” (best music video ever!) and “Nobody’s Listening.” Those are both some of LP’s best songs, and I highly recommend them to any newcomer.
You gotta listen to heavy, it was the last song released before Chester passed. It's probably the most beautiful and emotionally relatable to those with mental illness.
dude.. you must to hear "'Given up" that will blow your mind in so many ways. the lyrics, the melody, the scream, cause is THE SCREAM! RIP Chester from the bottom of heart, we miss you bro.. T__T
A few recommendations: 1) Chester had the voice of an angel who could scream like a demon. Check out the official MV for “Given Up”. In it you’ll find 17 seconds of sustained anguish. 2) “When They Come For Me” (I think live in Italy is a good version). Different from what you’d expect and showcases Mike more. Nothing crazy, just him nodding to Hip-Hop while Chester kills supporting vocals and drums. 3) “Qwerty” for Chester’s ability to literally flip his vocals on a dime. The vocal agility is insane. 4) Finally, honourable mention to their live in Texas performance of “Place for my Head”.
Chester was a treasure, he could sing a ballad one minute, then scream his lungs out the next. as i have seen many peole sum up "Voice of an Angel, Scream of a Demon."
One of the first music videos I ever saw, back when mtv still had music, back when people still watched mtv.. Simple a vid as it is, it still sells how much Chester put into those vocals. Dude really gave everything he had. For another rec, Breaking the Habit has always been one of their best. Wild animation, too
Linkin park is amazing! And it is a band with a lost of contrast.. "one more light" is a song with a profund message.. great lyrics. "One step closer" was one of their first hit.. super intense. "Waiting for the end" one of my favorites.. but honestly, pic any song randomly and you're gonna like it
My first ever concert was linkin park, unforgettable experience I was only 13 and stood right at the front, never been to a show that’s met the level they were at truly amazing 👍🏻
Chester to me is and will always be the best male vocalist ever. His range is just unparalleled. Oh and seeing them live and perform with Chris Cornell back in 2008 Warped Tour was amazing.
Yeah In The End is probably their most popular song. It was certainly my favorite when I first started listening to them. But this song happens to be one of my absolute favorites but only for nostalgic reasons. Every day when I got out of school I had like an hour and a half to kill before I had to be at my part-time job. And in that hour and a half at least 3 times a week me and my best friend and my girlfriend would go and get ice cream or a snow cone or something and it was like a law of nature that this song would have to be played at some point on our little trip. It just came on 1 day and it hit all of us in the right way. We were all in a really good mood for some reason that day and we had some really good ice cream. None of us were addicted drugs.... None of us are now either just to be clear... It was just one of those things that was fantastic in our sober state of mind. So fun that once that it became a tradition almost instantly. I still tap my hands-on whatever they are sitting on when I hear this song like I used to do to the steering wheel.
Yes - In the end was a song that the moment I heard it I had to know it - spent the next like 3 hours memorizing the lyrics before bed. (while I was in the field in Bosnia - Army)
Linkin Park stand out to me for their diversity of sound, from within tracks to throughout their career. I hope you will check out songs from their entire career to get a feel for the scope of their sound. They were great live; not the most massive elaborate stage productions, but they put their hearts into it, and often played around with their songs for live performances (using a remix version, mashing songs up, etc). Chester got some well-earned respect for breaking his wrist on stage, yet continuing the show after a quick break. That's dedication ❤
Yes, Chester does everything. R.I.P., my boy. If you want intensity, try One Step Closer. That was the first single from them I had ever heard. It played after midnight on our radio station because they didn’t want to play a song that intense during the daytime hours. I was instantly hooked!!!
Gosh. I remember being in middle school or high school sitting at the family computer watching their music videos back in the day. It was so bad ass when they were coming out with new music. Ugh. I miss them
People will tell you Linkin Park are a rock band, but they were originally Xero, part of an LA hip hop collective called Junkyard Scientific, which also included Styles of Beyond. Their core is hip hop. But they blended rock and metal sounds into it. The opposite of those bands at that time who played rock songs while doing imitation rapping over top. They even wrote a diss track about that kind of music, called Step Up. Yet people still consider them part of that genre.
I think Chester's voice touched a lot of people's souls! I know he spoke to me at a very low point in my life! But here I am now still rocking it after almost 60 years with a testimony to tell! Praise be to the Almighty! I just wish Chester and Chris were here with us and a lot others, but it is what it is. Chris Cornell passed away first and Chester was devastated still, if I'm not mistaken it was almost a year after Chris past that Chester past. I feel lost without him here, so I listen to the old Linkin Park all the time. Nice to see I'm not the only one he can affect!
If you want to truly see Chester's "growl/scream" talent, check out "Given Up". Its amazing and I think you will see how really talented he was. Also, "Points of Authority" is a really really good song. Probably my favorite song from them.
R.i.p Chester. Look up “ given up” chest does a huge scream
The lung capacity on that man must have been huge!
100% , also "A Place For My Head Live in Texas"
The legendary 17 second scream!! I'm here for it and I second the A Place for My Head Live in Texas, the beginning scream/screech Chester does is killer!
Shhhhhhhhhhh, don’t tell him, let him be surprised 🤫
this needs more likes until a reaction is done, always be my favorite
People never give enough credit to their drummer, Rob Bourdon. My man is a goddamn drum machine, he's so fucking tight. His beats really make the whole rap/rock combo work
I love the bleed it out version where he does a long as solo
“A place for my head” live in Texas 2003 will blow you away if you want a crazy stage performance
This. 110%. This performance still gives me chills. I wish I could have been there.
Summer Sanitarium LP, Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne, Deftones... bonkers for a single day show
I was at that show !
The entire performance will blow your mind. Not too many can wail like that live
Have you heard "Given Up"? He does a 17 second scream that will blow your mind. And the live version sounds just like the studio version.
Live at The AOL Sessions proves he can really do it!!!!
you just spoiled it
Staind does a 29 second scream in Cycle of Hurting
Came here to say this!
Lord do you have suggestions other than given up?? It’s always the same damn comment in reaction videos. Lp has great songs, given up is one scream.
I love Linkin Park SO much - I listened to Hybrid Theory every day my entire senior year in high school - this is when I really feel in love with the rock/rap sub-genre of music.
Same
Hybrid Theory was a watershed album for me. Have all of Linkin Park's album. Fan from the beginning. RIP Chester.
5:45 It’s called “vocal distortion/vocal fry.” Depending on the intensity, it can sound bluesy/soulful to metallic.
In this case, I hear, a note to it, so I would call that scream a pitched scream, but maybe I'm wrong....
Chester called it scringing. Scream singing.
RIP Chester :( First 2 album its 100/10, so good ....
Linkin Park - Querty live in Tokyo is their heaviest song. They played it in 2007 it was officially released this year.
All 3 of those you mentioned will change your life. Do them all.
One step closer...
Castles of glass....
One more light...
RIP Chester
Cant agree more to this
one more light.....always crying like a dog on those lyrics
One step closer is my favorite their first single
RIP Chester. "Waiting for the end" is amazing!
im so gutted that i cant do first time reactions to linkin park as im a day one fan! but love seeing other people find them and get blown away by chesters screaming ability.... IF YOU WANT HEAVY.....GIVEN UP is your next song linkin park are so damn versatile as you will discover, great respectful review man!!
Lee.
You're gonna love the LP rabbit hole my man. Enjoy!
“A place for my head” is heavy and shows off the rap side or “Given Up” for the screams. Can’t miss.
A place for my head is a great deep cut
upgrade live in texas is the best
Staind Cycle of Hurting has a 29 second scream
R.I.P Chester, the live performance of Faint and Given Up at the Rock am Ring 2007 is epic. Chester's legendery 17sec scream he does in the performance of Given Up is epic. Mad Love ❤

You should check out their cover of Rolling in the Deep. Just Mike on piano and Chester singing - it's phenomenal.
i agree its my favorite cover
That was genuinely amazing❤
“New Divide” and “In The End” pleeeeze 💯🔥🔥🔥
Mike is part of Fort Minor, he has a nice singing voice, plays the piano, among other things and raps. Chester gave us the soft smooth voice of an Angel and the insane ability to scream like a demon with everything in between .... Linkin Park's cover of Rolling In The Deep is wildly amazing.

8:11 The best answer to that question I can give you is you need to checkout their Live In Texas recorded concert. It’s insane!
I've been begging for this any time he listens to LP.
Really any live concert will do but Live in Texas is a masterpiece.
I managed to acquire a bootleg DVD of their set while I was in Iraq and it was pure 🔥 the most pit had to be a hundred meters wide swirling like a tornado.

Bleed it Out then Given Up.
One more light is soooo deep
Castle of glass is a song that to me stands on its own as next level and One step closer is also an all time favorite of mine. Do all 3 bro fr fr
A Place For My Head live in TX it is my favorite one.

Hey BP.
Before Ren, it was LINKIN PARK.
52 and still loving them. My kids are now listening to them.
❤❤ from a Middle Ages Renegade.
Similar age and same- Ren and LP hit my heart in similar ways
Yes do one step closer you won't be let down
This was the first cd I ever owned when I was 14. I listened to this album non stop for 9 months until I got a job.
This is one of the most iconic albums for people born 1990 and after
Great reaction Black Pegasus
Stay safe bro we love you here in Australia
Hands Held High is an emotional hip hop joint from Linkin Park that will deeply connect to you, knowing your beliefs on society. Highly recommend checking it out.
watch live in texas. I was there. it was epic. I hopped trains from Kansas to make it there then hopped trains back home.
Look at Linkin Park's first album bro it's so good. It has so much of the screaming mixed rap
Linkin Park Fun Fact. Mike Shinoda was one of the creators of Linkin Park, Chester joined later. The record company wanted to get rid of Mike, during the first album.

Love them all !

the intelligents the emotional content the heart felt lyrics.... wow
MORE!! LINKIN PARK!!
Chester has an EPIC scream on this song, Given Up is a song you really want to hear Chester’s screaming at its finest.
They have so many great songs. One of my favorites is Somewhere I Belong
Yes End the End, Numb, Faint, Bleed it out, What Ive done are my favs. This is NuMetal and I love it.
PLEASEEEEEE KEEP DOING THE LP REACTION
you genuinely will keep getting impressed
You have GOT to check out “Breaking the Habit” (best music video ever!) and “Nobody’s Listening.” Those are both some of LP’s best songs, and I highly recommend them to any newcomer.
Breaking the habit - is one that really stands out . Kind of an obvious title with a lot of things behind it .
I’m 63 and absolutely love this song❤ one of my favorites!
Linkin Park - The Catalyst (Live at Red Square Moscow 2011) it's 🔥
You gotta listen to heavy, it was the last song released before Chester passed. It's probably the most beautiful and emotionally relatable to those with mental illness.
Mike heavy songs are the best. Somewhere i Belong is even better. Mike is a heavy hitter
As a rap guy, you might appreciate some more of LP's Mike oriented bangers, Figure.09 is pretty dope. High Voltage is another old classic.
dude.. you must to hear "'Given up" that will blow your mind in so many ways. the lyrics, the melody, the scream, cause is THE SCREAM!
RIP Chester from the bottom of heart, we miss you bro.. T__T
The entire Collision Course collab with Jay Z was pure FIRE. Still listen to it a lot today.
Qwerty live from Japan, man. And 1000 other amazing songs!! ❤❤ rip Chaz
One step closer, papercut, numb and crawling are the best linking park songs in my opinion
A few recommendations:
1) Chester had the voice of an angel who could scream like a demon.
I LOVE Linkin Park - RIP CHESTER, miss you! Faint is my favorite!!!!
my first time tuning in, and i enjoyed every second of it. keep going down the linkin park rabbit hole, you wont regret it 🤘
Chester was a treasure, he could sing a ballad one minute, then scream his lungs out the next. as i have seen many peole sum up "Voice of an Angel, Scream of a Demon."
This was my alarm clock for well over 10 years. PLEASE LISTEN TO IT LIVE.
I ❤ LP, this band got me through some things . I’ll be forever grateful and thankful for their music. RIP Chester!
"Given Up", "Lying From You", "Breaking the Habit", all great. "One More Light" is probably gonna hit you in the feels, probably "Heavy", too.
One of the first music videos I ever saw, back when mtv still had music, back when people still watched mtv..
Simple a vid as it is, it still sells how much Chester put into those vocals. Dude really gave everything he had.
For another rec, Breaking the Habit has always been one of their best. Wild animation, too
There are so many, given up, from the inside, no more sorrow, ect.. by Linkin Park. Subscribed bc I like your lp reactions.
When they come for me bro. That’s something might become your favorite hip hop all way Best is live to Appreciate
i was blessed to have a friend who introduced me to this album in high school; this track helped cauterize a lot of absentee parent wounds.

As others have already said the live versions of Given Up, One More Light and Rolling in the Deep are a great demonstration of Chester's ability. RIP
You have to watch the live in Texas version of this song. The intensity and energy in this song is just unreal.
I was fortunate enough to see them twice in concert and they were amazing
Linkin Park stand out to me for their diversity of sound, from within tracks to throughout their career. I hope you will check out songs from their entire career to get a feel for the scope of their sound.
They were great live; not the most massive elaborate stage productions, but they put their hearts into it, and often played around with their songs for live performances (using a remix version, mashing songs up, etc).
Chester got some well-earned respect for breaking his wrist on stage, yet continuing the show after a quick break. That's dedication ❤
"When They Come For Me" is one of their most unique songs, which I understand the irony of, given LP's uniqueness. I think you'd really appreciate it.
it is the best part of LP combine some kind of rap metal and this heavy text with scream. amazing
Yes, Chester does everything. R.I.P., my boy. If you want intensity, try One Step Closer. That was the first single from them I had ever heard. It played after midnight on our radio station because they didn’t want to play a song that intense during the daytime hours. I was instantly hooked!!!
Banger again! You are one of my favorites!
Gosh. I remember being in middle school or high school sitting at the family computer watching their music videos back in the day. It was so bad ass when they were coming out with new music. Ugh. I miss them
If you haven't heard Chester's 17 second scream in "given up", it's a must listen. Lying from you is my favorite song of theirs
Def check out one more light, castle of glass, etc. So many classic hits. RIP Chester never got the chance to see them live.
Saw them live in 2007 & 2008... great festival memories :)
People will tell you Linkin Park are a rock band, but they were originally Xero, part of an LA hip hop collective called Junkyard Scientific, which also included Styles of Beyond. a song right before he passed and released right after..."Cross Off" Mark Morton Feat. Chester...it's unbelievable...very hard
Points of Authority the official video. Banger ❤🎉
If you want to truly see Chester's "growl/scream" talent, check out "Given Up". Its amazing and I think you will see how really talented he was. Also, "Points of Authority" is a really really good song. Probably my favorite song from them.
for some reason my favourite linkin park song since the first time i heard it 20 years ago...
