  • I did not have cf felt so used fibers from carbon fiber laminating fabric.

Great ideas with the candle idea. I've heard they did similar things in the orange plantations in Florida when it was getting too cold, trying to save the oranges. But definitely not as smoke free as your approach.

I used to spend winter in Florida Naples area and the fires are called smudge pots now a days they use gas I think but back in 80s they billowed black soot. I am following that idea. saving to buy proper 2x2 lengths to mount to the windows so I can have a double wall with air gap for winter next year. I may do a great escape trick and dig down 3 feet to fit the 7 foot tree and warm it with ground.

PS the wick will not ignite the liquid shortening if it gets knocked over and I have the alarm set to spray the hot oil at the entrance. Kidding, :)

@@441rider that's from the 80's when I heard of this, cheers. My parents lived in Orlando for a few years and moved closer to us when we had kids.
You are putting many ideas to use. Double walling is a big benefit, how much space are you aiming for? Volume will be a factor, respectively the thickness.

2" air using the boards as the gauge hopefully I can get 10'x6' double wall polycarbonate for outside then I can put poly on inside with the 4x8 foam in it at base. The metal trim on bay windows is 2" and it will clean it up. Landlord had one question is it on the property? then no problem. LOL!@@rjung_ch
