I have a xbox 1 s and i ordered headphones on amazon, unfortunately, they had mono sound, this video taught me how to get soround sound even on headphones that dont support it! Thank you so much i am very happy.
i get surround sound when i put the jack in my laptop when sound is playing but then it stops and makes it more 'quality like' but i'd like the surround effect
Did you compare games encoded in Dolby vs LPCM vs DTS? I noticed the best thing to do was "put likes with likes,". Windows Sonic for LPCM movies and games, Dolby Atmos Headphobes for any Dolby surround format and DTSX Headphones for any DTS surround format. Also there is an issue with "double converting". If your Turtle Beach is in Dolby mode, leave the Dolby untouched. If you want Xbox decoder sound, put the geadphobes in "Dolby Bypass mode". Ir else you'll "double decode" it
I know how to create stereo sound on Android. You would have to turn on Dolby Atmos, customize the eq (63-250+10db,500-4k-10db,8k-16k+10db), then you would have to turn on the UHQ and switch it to bit and bandwidth upscaling. That also will work great for your headphones. It's not just Xbox where you can get stereo.
@@BudgetNerd Brilliant :D thanks for the quick response. I was worried about this as I am going to use those headphones for music and gaming and I do like having a bit of surround sound. thank you
I'm having trouble with DTS and LPCM encoded Blu Rays with a Turtle Beach X41 it Turtle Beach DSS. It either silence, or a double conversion from DTS to Dolby to Dolby Headphone. Something's list in the double translation. Help with DTS and LOCM movies?
Do you have any idea how to get the razer headsets surround sound on the Xbox? Sure i can get it on PC but it's suposoed to help me with my games on my Xbox 😅
I'm pretty sure my friends dad is an engineer because we had the same headphones but his had surround sound and mine didn't. And he didn't have Dolby Atmos, or Windows sonic.
@@BudgetNerd I'm trying on pc windows 10 professional and I can see the option for it but I can't select it as it has a lower opacity if u know what I mean.
It's been a while since I did research for this video, but I don't think windows 7 supports spacial audio natively. You might be able to add 3rd party spacial audio like Atmos, or maybe another one.
If a headphone manufacturer or a video game sound designer tells you he can make your ears hear elevation then they are full of shit. When your eyes and/or your memory have some evidence to match up with cleverly presented sounds then your brain can give you elevation estimates and with accurate memory and/or visual info your brain can pin point. I love good sound design and I really enjoy my 7.1 headphones BUT all of this garbage about a person sitting wearing headphones with their eyes shut and hearing a single crystal clear “ting” on a blank sound stage and knowing right away that the sound is coming from forty feet in front and to the left of him and from twenty feet up is total and complete bullshit. In front and to the left, yes and then If he’s familiar with the sound, eg. a dog barking, then he’ll have an idea of distance then if he’s VERY familiar with the sound, eg. it’s HIS dog, then he’ll have a VERY good idea of distance but with his eyes shut and having no other info to “cross reference” there is no fucking way he will know elevation. I love good technology and I really like 7.1 but at this level these guys are like expert art appreciators in that they create the bullshit they disseminate to impress you. 7.1 is cool but if a great sound designer uses great technology to present video game sound to you in stereo and you listen to it through great quality stereo headphones then with or without other knowledge and visual clues you will have just as much chance of estimating elevation as the same game with the 7.1 option. 7.1 is cool but it’s not magical.

I am thinking about buying some audio technica headphones which are stereo and i want to ask you if spatial surround is okay or in your opinion good?
The spacial surround mentioned in this video is pretty good yes.

@@BudgetNerd would you say its noticeable if you weren't immediately switching between a genuine surround sound headset and a sonic one ?
I couldn't tell much of a difference.

Does this also work with movies, either on DVD/Bluray or Netflix?
Nathan Bell It works with anything that's encoded for surround sound.

@@BudgetNerd ok
is it 7.1
It looks like if the programs or game would support 5.1 or 7.1, windows Sonic is capable of simulating that.
YOU RE BESTTTT
I love you dog
