Morning Mick, The ratings service is a set of race ratings that are produced within a fairly strict set of criteria, with class of race, type of race, minimum & maximum amount of runners etc. If a race passes this initial criteria, I then look to identify value based picks based off both the ratings scores, and the positive expected value figure that is generated on the sheet. I then apply the usual form study approach on top of that. I put these out as win only selections, recording results to BFSP. This is not a high strike rate type of service, and is definitely a long term value based approach, which is why it does not suit the majority of punters, especially casual types who just like a flutter and to find a few winners with regularity. The Additional Picks service was brought into play earlier this month to compliment the Ratings service, but also give followers a bit of diversity, with a more traditional style win and each way style selection base. I still try to focus on value prices, but do not have the restricted criteria that the Ratings service is based upon. If you want access to the ratings sheets, and you are not already signed up on Patreon, then perhaps consider going across and signing up for free over there, and take a look for yourself. Firm - 1 win & 1 place from 2 runs Good to Firm - 4 wins & 5 placed from 20 runs Good - 3 wins & 2 placed from 20 runs Any softer is probably not ideal. Biggest issue is breaking from the stalls, if he gets away clean, then I feel he has a good chance of at least making the frame. Regards Dave
