What should Small Water Systems know about CT disinfection

Disinfection - the destruction of pathogens - is the most important treatment step to ensure safe water quality is achieved. In this webinar, we’ll discuss primary and secondary disinfection, and role of CT, the product of disinfectant concentration and contact time, in ensuring pathogen-free drinking water reaches the tap. We’ll examine how to estimate the contact time between a disinfectant and water in a couple of ways: using residence time distribution curves, and through the use of flow rates, contact basin volumes and baffling factors.
