He didn't test the local connection. I have same switch and it works pretty well at gigabit speeds. Might even upgrade to same model but with more ports.

1gbps is giga bit which is equal to 100MB which is mega byte

I brought a new gaming router, do I just put Ethernet cable into the gaming router and the other end into this modem to start getting internet ?
