@JasonRice-e5u it's different when it's a player who is close to getting into the A team (like Nkunku) comes in as a sub and offers a different profile. Don't see how this is on Maresca tbh. Don't tell me that this team isn't good enough to win that game, dominated possession, dominated shots, shots on target, xG. If Nkunku, Felix or KDH scored just one of their 8 or 9 easy chances in the box, it would be a different story. Maresca can't put the ball in the back of the net when Felix is clear one on one on goals and hits it wide, or when Nkunku is wide open in the box and mis-kicks it and goes behind him, or when KDH is 5m from goal and passes to Nick Pope.
One of the extremely rare times I disagree with you. I think it's important he shows faith with the B team against difficult opponent and despite the depth of the squad, it's more important to prioritise the league, Europe and FA cup. If we are in the latter stages of all, inevitably we will want to field a strong squad. The only disappointment i have is why on earth he would play KDH at RW instead of just playing Noni.
I think this recent run of form is making fans think we are much better than we are, we arent gunna be able to win a treble or challenge on all fronts, we are doing better but realistically should focus elsewhere
Just a poor man's jorginho and I told our fans from day one about him he's average and all this time later I've been proved right on him,but our dumb fans can't see it or listen but he's a great passer which is a myth as you saw tonight as all he kept doing is passing it to a Newcastle player.
He didn't throw the game. We need to see this as Maresca not living up to the game. He was out classed, maybe he chose not to respond in the second half, but that's a separate thing. The CB pairing was shit. The CDM and LB pairing was shit (considering how our LB always pushes up). Mudryk eye candy but ineffective. We just need to do better tactically and individuallty.
It feels like the manager was trying to prove some point, or make some statement, I think he was trying to point out the difference between the two squads or show someone a comparison between the two squads, he really didn't want to use anyone from the first team (except Noni because dusbary is not a winger really)
So many players not fit to play for us, really sad that we had no fight in us, sick of the ball getting passed about in our own goal, JUST GET IT AWAY MAN !
Well the b team earned his trust and then threw it all away. The Monaco boys really need to go in January. truth is players let the manager and the fans down.
6 Observations • The 1st half we were toothless but had good combination play + we played our way out of trouble well until the Veiga mistake. Enzo told us there'd be days like this. • We lacked cutting edge up front & an aerial threat (#9🇳🇬) for all those wasted crosses into the box. • Enzo Maresca messed up fielding KDH & Disasi on the right. Cucurella and Noni would've given us more on the right & then Veiga at LB. • Nkunku isn't a striker. Maybe a forward or a shadow striker. We never really looked like scoring in either half. • Cucu was our best player. Mudryk was decent but frustrating in moments too like Félix for his lack of end product & wastefulness - the cost of being artistic. #LuxuryPlayer • These cups are for development. An identity + a style of play is beginning to develop even with the Cup Squad. We go again on Sunday.
Not hard to grasp mgmt's attitude: if I'm not mistaken, Carabao cup win only gets you conference league, FA cup win and/or Conference League cup gets you Europa league, and we know what Top 4 or higher would do, the greatest prize of all.
This is just a wake up call folks. We are still playing shit football. I am really looking forward to next season with Estêvão and Kendry coming to the club. We all know we need to sort out the defence and a good striker needed. Why would you play KDH on the right wing? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Poch vibes again
i really want to see neto lw palmer rw and nkunku behind jackson, with james or gusto at right back pushing up on the right, sadly that won’t be realistic with this set up but i think it will be our best lineup, imagine nkunku and palmer as 2 10s in possession with james and neto holding the width😩😩
Just stfu guys. It’s okay to loose this game. The priority is the league and we’ve reached the final last year and what happened? Nkunku needs to be sold, Fernandez wasn’t good. You can’t chase multiple rabbits at once and don’t forget the team is still learning the system. Y’all just wanna win every game and so do I but we need to be realistic and be man enough to understand and accept things. If he’d won today and lost on Sunday y’all will be screaming about top 4 finish chances. Just shut up and support the manager. Save your criticisms
This! Its over the top to cry about this meaningles cup shit 😂 we are going for champions league and top 4. These idiots on the field had opportunity to show and fukin failed. Why should the first team save them
Im lowkey happy we got booted out this early . The pain levels in the past recent years have been brutal since we'd get to the finals only to get battered by the likes of Liverpool last season , Arsenal and leciester in the FA cup. This pain is bearable in my opinion.
I dint really care about this seasons carabao cup. Rather have our focus on getting top 4(just in case) and the last European trophy our cabinet doesn't have. I saw this as a growing/ learning experience. Maresca would say that we know where we need to improve. Jorgensen started well... then lost some confidence. Renato seemed subdued. We learn and grow. Big match this weekend. #ktbffh
@ebukaakumuo6 Right, I knew Newcastle were going to be sore after that loss at the weekend then you make 11 changes and it was written before the ball was even kicked today.
How did he throw this game away?. You all have been begging some of the second team should’ be first team lol. Our fans are funny. I’ve seen enough for me to be patient with Maresca the next two years. Board needs to give him the right players
Maybe it’s a way of showing the 2nd and 3rd teams are going to have to work extremely hard to get back and that they aren’t good enough. But also we are gonna have a full clear out of players who aren’t good enough
Vega wasn't good at DM. Badiashle and Disasi partnershio was bad as per usual. KDH doesn't look like he belongs with us. Fernandes deserves to be with the B Team.
In fairness it wasn’t the full b team. Were used to having Neto in there too and instead played KDH right wing! Also cucurella and veiga both played. So not our typical b team
I just watched some lengthy highlights of the game, we had our chances it seems, mainly from Felix, but he couldn’t bury them. I didn’t see Nkunku involved at all during those highlights🤷🏼♂️
Maresca shouldn’t have taken the piss. If he wasn’t interested in winning this game, he should’ve at least had the decency to let the fans know beforehand and save us a 700 mile round trip and a shit load of cash. Thanks you Pratt Maresca.
You would expect a young team to aim higher especially during winnable levels, with the help of the Coach of course balancing players for an encouraging outcome… the players were on their own…
It’s really hard to get tickets to see Chelsea. This cup allows me the chance. I’ll be at the EFL Trophy match vs Cambridge United next week. I’ll just have to be content with that
I'm sorry but Badiashile and Desasi are downright awful players and they have been since putting on the chelsea shirt, chelsea was built on great defense and watching those 2 just hurts my eyes
Our defence was a shambles. Apart from Cucurella, I don’t want to see any of our back four or the keeper play for us again. As for Enzo, he should be demoted to the bench for the rest of the season.
That's the first time this season i've had an issue with Enzo. He has players on the bench like Palmer and Carney to use if we are losing and need a goal or 2. And he just left them on the bench. I knew once Noni came on he was just going to run and shoot and not try to create for others. Mudryk was our best attacking player, and Nkunku and Felix looked flat. It's the first time i saw the B team and saw players being complacent and apathetic about being there. Maresca should have been more ruthless and pulled off the struggling players as had the depth on the bench to compete more than we did. He played the whole right flank out of position with Disasi at Right back and KDH at right wing and Veiga as right midfield. Maybe Enzo knows something we don't, and is trying to show the board who he wants sold or replaced in January, but he didn't make us competitive which is infuriating. I think it's time for Disasi and Badiashile to pack their bags and bring in Antonio Silva from Benfica and Anselmino, as Fofana is struggling too much. We still need a keeper like Diogo Costa and a striker better than Jackson like Osimhen or Gyokeres. If you are playing your B team at least play your players in their best positions. He should have played N'Kunku behind Guiu, and then put Felix on the wing instead of KDH. And played Colwill at half time once he saw the form of the Monaco boys.
You can't keep saving the players, sometimes they have to push for the win themselves. Now if they are not chosen for a prem game they can't complain. The talent he fielded should be enough to win that game but the players struggled.
I understand the frustration, but Chelsea were the better team for the vast majority of the game. There was only really a ten minute period where Newcastle was dominate. Nkunku and Felix just couldn’t convert after that despite getting into really good positions.
This is the first time the second team did not get the result so looks like Maresca wanted them to prove they could do it for 90 mins. Missed chances second half and had 66% possession. They had hardly any chances apart for the goals that we gave them because we cant play the ball at the back. Enzo woeful and Badiashille / Disasi as usual against anyone decent.
The second (B) team threw the game man, can't blame Maresca. Respectfully two major mistakes caused us the game....the platform is there for the players to step up. THEY DIDN'T. Of course, Enzo could have made changes but why? 11 changes? Why pull them off when to the players, they deserve to play and deserve game time....the squad is big.
People will question why he didn't make subs, the players on the field are good enough they should do better, Nkunku Felix this match if all matches yu can't score anymore???
Don't blame maresca, he has to rotate otherwise the players will lose value and it'll be even more difficult to ship out some of the deadwood. It's an absolute miracle that we made top half of the league last year with badiashille and disasi. Awful players.
We actually gave them the two goals and then totally outplayed them as they went on defense. Maresca obviously not interested in winning the cup and looking at the big picture.
I think we had more than enough quality on that team, they should have won without any of our A team starters. Blame is on the players on that pitch, they weren't good enough
Agreed ridiculous. But I think Maresca threw this on purpose. I think he want the conference league and top 4 champions league. I think he knows what we will all be saying at the end of the season if we are top 4 and win the conference. Those are the two targets at the end of the season and he could care less about this cup! No changes at half when we were atrocious and only one change overall says it all!!
He did throw it away. I just didn't understand how do we have Disasi as a RB and Veiga as a DM after that Bournemouth game, man. Plus, what is KDH doing as a RW?
Don't forget few months before everyone laughed at Chelsea saying they can put forward 2 good teams with the amount of players and options they have...😀 this performance just proves that we just need to be certain about our playing 11 and stop experiments. This is not a lab it's a freeking football club.
Maresca purposely threw this game away he did not want to win this game at all!! Starting the 2nd half without any subs after that terrible 1st half performance proved it all. He’s fully focused on top4 in the league as much as he keeps saying it’s not a priority & we should win the conference league without any problems , let’s see how we do in the fa cup ….
Look we have so many players in that team. If the "B team" can't do enough to go to the next stage it's on them. Those guys shd be able prove they are rdy for the prem but from what I saw only Cucu deserves a prem league place.
Let's be honest. Jorgensen, Badiashille, Disasi, veiga, Dewsbury hall, Enzo, Felix were terrible. Passing was awful. Badiashille with his danger balls as usual. What really annoys me is when we are behind and time running down, there doesn't seem to be any urgency about our game. Slow and steady, back and forth, it's frustrating AF! Mudryk set up 3 MASSIVE chances that where just awful finishes. Nkunku was quiet all game but he seemed to be playing in a CAM position and certainly wasn't a false 9. It was just awful all over the pitch. 2-0 down and Newcastle were happy to leave us with the ball cos we just kept going backwards. I wanted to see a bit of fight in them and got nothing. Second half was a passing game.
He just threw the B team under the bus. He is single handedly reducing Fernandez value weekly. Not sure why he just did that. Pressure on him for the Utd game now.
The reality is, by Maresca not making subs he has put the defeat entirely in the hands of the B team. They knew if they won they would have another 3 or 4 games this season in that competition. They have lost those opportunities to play because they are crap. Nkunku Felix are trash. Now later in the season, if any of them come knocking on Marescas door complaining they don't get played enough, he can turn round and say well hard luck you should win when you get played, it's your fault! You forfeited your opportunities by losing games. It's genius.
Casadei and Carney should be playing in this “B team”, KDH should not be in any line up we have. His last game was his best but it still wasn’t good enough for Chelsea
KDH is not a Chelsea player and we don’t have a spot for him on this team but maresca feels like he owes him and is forcing him into the team. He’s played CDM and RW which he is not. He’s a CAM and we’ve got Felix and Palmer playing there
Why hasn't anyone talked about our set piece? We recruited so called one of the best set piece coach but after months, our set piece doesn't look good at all, both defensive and attacking.
I know it seems odd on the surface but you’ve got to look at the big picture. The only way to keep these backup players motivated is to trust them and to play them even against difficult opposition.
Fernandez is a turnover machine! Needs to be sold!
Just a poor man's jorginho and I told our fans from day one about him he's average and all this time later I've been proved right on him,but our dumb fans can't see it or listen but he's a great passer which is a myth as you saw tonight as all he kept doing is passing it to a Newcastle player.
@ I’ve never liked him! I’ve never seen the big hype around him!! Can’t wait for him to go!!!
Such a waste of money - kovacic was 3X The player he is and we sold him for 1/4 of the price!!
@@RC-oe6gyif you say these kinda things these donkeys just say you dont have ball knowledge 😂
How on earth did Badiashile even get a 6.5? I think they're missing a negative sign or something
The players ended up like they wanted the ground to swallow them up. They needed to be subbed for their integrity alone
Owners may have told Maresca or strongly implied to him that top four secures his job - nothing else.
Honestly that back line gives me Anxiety, Veiga in midfield was not good prefer him in a back 3
As soon as I saw Badiashile and Duhhhsasi I had a real bad feeling. Also Fernandez as Captain....aweful
Losing this game so poorly can have a knock on effect, United will be fired up on Sunday, I fear the worst.
This is why the 2 team method doesn’t work half of these players aren’t good enough against higher opponents. That was a very poor performance.
They can't complain when they get fewer games now. Those players had their chances and blew it today
Nahhh we weren’t that bad, we created chances we just squandered them.
@@glowwurm9365wrong we were very bad
Any time Badi as hell and Disaster play it shows they’re nowhere near good enough. Not helped by so many poor performances
Cucu, Mudryk, and Noni were my three players that played well. Two of those are A team players arguably tho
No only cucú
@@marvinhayes7360noni is the starter lol
Monaco boys at it again, I done told y'all😂
Hard to beat a team twice in 3 days but Maresca should have played to win! Because losing can be very contagious for a young team!
6 Observations
• The 1st half we were toothless but had good combination play + we played our way out of trouble well until the Veiga mistake.
#LuxuryPlayer
• These cups are for development.
2:49 I’m pausing to say this, carney is who need to be KDH replacement. Like I’m sorry but I seen more from that lad than kdh has displayed
Fr, I remember last season against Leicester he came on at lw and scored the winner he's better than strawberry hall in midfield and on the wing
Save your criticisms
go support spurs bro you have their mentality
This! Its over the top to cry about this meaningles cup shit 😂 we are going for champions league and top 4. These idiots on the field had opportunity to show and fukin failed. Why should the first team save them
It's up to the cup team to prove themselves. Enzo gets to see who's good enough to stay.
Im lowkey happy we got booted out this early . The pain levels in the past recent years have been brutal since we'd get to the finals only to get battered by the likes of Liverpool last season , Arsenal and leciester in the FA cup. This pain is bearable in my opinion.
How did he throw the game our second team should be good enough to beat them 🤔
I dint really care about this seasons carabao cup. #ktbffh
Our first team struggled to beat them and you think our B team would have a walk in the park when they made just 4 changes🤐🤐
@ebukaakumuo6 Right, I knew Newcastle were going to be sore after that loss at the weekend then you make 11 changes and it was written before the ball was even kicked today.
@ebukaakumuo6 That too
Agreed!
Bring back trevoh
Vega wasn't good at DM. Badiashle and Disasi partnershio was bad as per usual. KDH doesn't look like he belongs with us. Fernandes deserves to be with the B Team.
These comments are embarrassing. The manager wanted to lose. End of.
In fairness it wasn’t the full b team. Were used to having Neto in there too and instead played KDH right wing! Also cucurella and veiga both played. So not our typical b team
Watching all the ads today for Yannick the g
Disasi lazy big lampp need to be sold as soon as possible. Actually we play B team just as experiment.
You would expect a young team to aim higher especially during winnable levels, with the help of the Coach of course balancing players for an encouraging outcome… the players were on their own…
Not the first time we’ve underperformed (and not taken it seriously) in the League Cup.
It’s really hard to get tickets to see Chelsea. This cup allows me the chance. I’ll be at the EFL Trophy match vs Cambridge United next week. I’ll just have to be content with that
This is the best thing that happened to thr b team. Blessing in disguise. Would make then
Im so ok being out of this competition, dont want to be like utd who wins shit trophies but never actually does well in pl
We need an easy trophy win man. Terrible coaching
@@charskullthats legit the conference league. The milk cups heen dead for years
Shit trophies are all we are good enough to win and we even blow that !!!
I'm not mad at not using the subs especially if it helps avoid and injury crisis. The B team is capable of beating them but they let us down
BadiaSHELL and Axel Disaster
You can't sell players who don't play. I say let them play to separate the ones staying and the ones being sold
Wrong he wanted to lose
People will question why he didn't make subs, the players on the field are good enough they should do better, Nkunku Felix this match if all matches yu can't score anymore???
I didn't think the line up was good enough for a game like this. Caciedo alone would have won this game for us.
4:39 23 times loss of possession is absolutely unacceptable from him. (Enzo)
Maresca obviously not interested in winning the cup and looking at the big picture.
well this was the first test on merescas player management
I think we had more than enough quality on that team, they should have won without any of our A team starters. Blame is on the players on that pitch, they weren't good enough
The level of gash on display was on par with the intro raps
Jackson misses the chances Felix had and everyone would be slagging off Jackson
First yan 🐐
Maresca purposely threw this game away he did not want to win this game at all!! Starting the 2nd half without any subs after that terrible 1st half performance proved it all. He’s fully focused on top4 in the league as much as he keeps saying it’s not a priority & we should win the conference league without any problems , let’s see how we do in the fa cup ….
Maresca just couldn’t be bothered and that’s unacceptable from the gaffer
It’s okay to just BOOT IT out of the back sometimes
Course for Chelsea at the moment top 4 is more important win Sunday and he made the right choice lose Sunday then questions have to be answered
Disasi and Badiashielle. Awful as per usual. Disasi at RB. Joke. Enzo Fernandez crap.
Sancho lavia fofana reece were the only players who could be excused from playing. Everyone else atleast could have made the bench
To give man United something to build on too. It's now becoming a mind game than tactical.
Manchester United must not lose to this spiritless team in the next game.
Casadei and Carney should be playing in this “B team”, KDH should not be in any line up we have. His last game was his best but it still wasn’t good enough for Chelsea
Enzo Maresca is treating Chelsea like we are Manchester City. Take that how you will
KDH is not a Chelsea player and we don’t have a spot for him on this team but maresca feels like he owes him and is forcing him into the team. He’s played CDM and RW which he is not. He’s a CAM and we’ve got Felix and Palmer playing there
Showed you what an team of average players can do, against decent opposition.
we’re chelsea, we DOMINANT everything
Why hasn't anyone talked about our set piece? We recruited so called one of the best set piece coach but after months, our set piece doesn't look good at all, both defensive and attacking.
