  • Marma therapy (aka Ayurvedic acupressure) is an energy medicine that can be extremely helpful for balancing both the body and mind. This video offers detailed information about nine Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine) energy points on the hand which can be used to help a range of conditions from headaches to emotional upset to increased immunity to better breathing. Also discussed is a brief history of the development of marma therapy. This is the first video my "Marma Therapy" series.
Correction: there are 117 marma points on the body

From the book of David frawley,Subhash Ranade and Avinash Lele, They give different points of the hand, for example: Kurchashira in the book is mentioned as Kurcha, Talahrida is mentioned as the middle of the hand, kurcha in the book is mentioned as the base of the thumb. would you know the reason for these differences?
    Thank you for your time.

I had a copy of that book at some point and also recognized discrepancies but do not know why they exist. You could experiment with the two systems regarding the points of the hand and decide for yourself if one system is more effective than the other. Also, know that marma points are only energy points and can be generated anywhere on the body (like in Traditional Chinese Medicine) and physical landmarks that are given are just an approximation for main energy points that are located in the "energy body". That's why there is no standard map of marma points like in TCM.
