Thank you Patrick! Would of been neat for me to have the screen recording from the unit. I had to do an update on my phone and I had no cell service...
I can tell your still pumped !! And your right about the need for the floro for deep big bass, one warning with that is that fish can take your rod. I nearly lost a rod (same set up) on an 8#, the reel caught on the railing. That will get your heart ol'heart pumping!!! Reval in your in your youth & sport now, when your 68 it's not so easy.
Yes sir! Still excited. I want to go back! Even though I could be considered late to the party. Place was just nothing like I have ever fished. I appreciate you sharing and watching the video. Thanks Terry
Water clarity at the end of the lake I was fishing... around 5 ft at least. Water was very clean! I was actually not ready for the type of water clarity that we fished.
@@mgdwj i went out to spring creek in mertzon today and caught a 7 pounder upstream from county road 211…spring creek has got some Hawgs in it man if you get the chance go check it out
Trolling motor absolutely affects fish, LiveScope transducer pings affect fish, boat shadow affects fish, the exploding popularity of bass fishing coupled with the fact that it’s never been easier to have all the toys equals heavy pressure, always good to be as stealthy as possible, great vid congrats on the tank!!
Yes. I appreciate it! Being from Arkansas those are considered dinosaurs in this state. One gets caught in a public lake here and it will be on the news for the whole year.
OH is quickly rising as a bucket list fishery. Looks like a blast. Congrats again Jimi. Let's say you didn't use the scope. How would you have attacked that lake?
Place is a blast for sure! It has an abundance of forage and also a lot of good quality size of bass. It is still fishing though, I have known a lot of people go down there and struggle but if you hit it right.. can be the best fishing day you have. If I fished the lake without the scope, of course this depends on the time of year. With the spring here I would target spawning pockets/ creeks/ drains with swimbait / Texas rig . One main source of cover is the cedar trees. You see them along the bank. I also would look for offshore humps/points. Texas rig / Carolina rig / jig / crank those areas. Fish do get in big groups off shore there. Zebra mussels are in the lake so you have to watch your line and lures when fishing on the bottom.
Would be different for in terms of fishing off shore! With the clear water that lake has you will be able to turn off all of the electronics and be able to sight fish for them soon
I've heard old timers say to play the fish a little to give it time to regulate its bladder before bringing it to the surface. I never gave it much thought. Thanks
The fin weights have helped me in so many situations. Even at a HS derby recently where we had Big bass in the event. The kid caught a 6 lb bass in deeper water for the lake which was mostly shallow. The fish was side ways after checking it in the livewell. We put the clips on it. Checked her in an hour and she was alive and thriving! We also had G juice too.
The lake I fish every day or did until this past weekend had salinity levels rise and killed all the bass I pulled up and there was dead bass floating everywhere it broke my heart
20 minutes...Something that used to take a lifetime....What could possibly go wrong? FFS will be the death of many fisheries. So do you fizz the fish you catch at 40+ feet?
You did not watch the whole video. Yeah this was 20 minutes but still people go to this lake and do not catch a DD I did not fizz the fish. I used the clip weights and let the fish sit in the livewell with them on and the air bladder gets worked out. I have been doing this for a long time. I explained it in the video. - Jimi
Yeah the lake has been popular for the last two years. From my two days on it, the lake is full of forage and has an abundance of healthy bass right now. The fish may get harder to catch but with all of the life currently there it will take a weather/crazy event for the fishery to get ruined right now.
Its decerning seeing my home lake blow out and pressured AF just cause people have YT channels. Thanx social media. Nothing is sacred anymore. FFS is as gay as high fence deer hunting over bait piles:
Really glad Jonny hired you on, great work.
Appreciate the words! - Jimi
One word for you, my friend, EXCELLENT... Thanks, Jimi... Don

Way to go, Jimi! That's a mammoth bass, brother! And so cool you got her so soon when you arrived!
Appreciate it! We were lucky to get one that fast. Good experience!
Great job on the fish. Keep up the awesome content. Tight lines.

Outstanding man .Man way to go. very good Cant say it enough. .Thats a nice boat in the back ground too. Take it easy.
Appreciate it Craig! I know where you can get one of those. Take care! Good luck fishing this upcoming month!
Great job good catch. Thanks for giving us play by play action.👍❤️🎣
Appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed.
Great video sir and congratulations on that fish of a life time!
Appreciate it thanks!
Nice catch! With the bass being so deep, my question is what was the water clarity? Thanks
Water clarity at the end of the lake I was fishing... around 5 ft at least. Water was very clean! I was actually not ready for the type of water clarity that we fished.
What a beast of a fish nice catch 👊
Thanks Colton!
Jimi, you came to Texas and ain't call ya boy?!?
Nice catch. I was at OH Ivie last month...tough fishing...not 1 bite. Glad you got a biggun out here,
I snuck down there! I have known a few people have the same experience there. You and I both know it is still fishing and not catching!
I live 40 minutes from ivie and I’ve been fishing it my whole life…I’m glad its getting the recognition it deserves
It is an awesome place! I wish I had a lake like it in an hour radius from me!
You in Angelo

Comments on the effect of water flow were the most interesting to me.
Sweet!
Awsome catch !!! Curious would you have tried a flutter spoon w them being that deep
Thanks Mike!
We actually did try spoons later this day. We found a few more groups of fish. They did not want the spoon. We tried multiple sizes too.
I hear u on that neighbor. Newhope here
That’s such a cool bite man!
Yes sir! Thank you for watching!
I caught 10 pound large mouth on Woods Reservoir, Tn, last March on a chatter bait, but in 3.5 foot of water
Yeah now that sounds like fun!!
Good video man appreciate it
Thanks Justin!
Awesome info

Agree Fish clips work well!
Thanks for sharing. I do not know many people that use them

Nice fish Texas fish and game has done an awesome job. I follow Milliken fishing and everywhere he fishes in Texas catches.double digits. 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes, Milliken can catch them! He will tell you he moved to Texas for a reason. He is one of the best at catching double digit fish

Na it sucks now. Blown out due to tournaments and “influencers” i hear austin is time this time of yr:

I feel the same way about the A-rig.
What a tank!
It was!
Couldn’t of done it without your video game screen!
You are right! If it was only easy as playing video games. I think I won the heisman trophy 25 times when I played the old NCAA as a kid.
Did you use livescope? Randy Blaukat gonna be pissed.
Funny!!
The lake I fish every day or did until this past weekend had salinity levels rise and killed all the bass I pulled up and there was dead bass floating everywhere it broke my heart
I hate to hear that! Very unfortunate.
My home lake. Wished that we could have met up.
No Way! Yeah I would of enjoyed meeting you. I wish that place was my home lake. I bet it is tough now with all of the visitors/boat traffic though.
@@BassFishingDeclassified Next time you are out, give me a shout.
It’s my home lake also, but that’s a very hard lake to work
Will do! I hope to be back next February. May even go this December.

Haha no! Those are at my local dealership.
Congrats on such a nice fish, Jimi! That was a beautiful girl for sure! Was that your PB?

All these youtubers talking about lake ivie and you're gonna have a million anglers over there ruining that lake.

@@BassFishingDeclassified yes it's popular, but its been that way for me since I can remember. We just never said a thing. Lol
Yes, the locals were keeping it quiet and did for a few years from what I heard...
@@BassFishingDeclassified there's other lakes as hot as Ivie. Near Ivie. But I ain't saying.
I have been told there are some! Too bad I live 7 plus hours away. Thanks for watching!
Here’s your tip
1.Move south where 10lb fish are plentiful
2.Spend thousands of dollars on livescope
3. Fish your ass off
A lot of big fish down south for sure!
Dude. You must slow down. 😂
