    Aside from a retro fit scenario where you might have coax and figure 8 cable to the camera location I can't see the benefit fo a WiFi camera. If you're gonna have to run a cable to power the camera may as well just run it over POE and be have it is a network cabled camera.

      Agree in most cases this would be the correct way , but there are several installations that have local power but cant / wont run the LAN cable , this works well , you can also power it with 12VDC and connect as hotspot direct to camera and download footage, 😊

    I noticed on the web browser for hik vision camera systems you cannot fast forward playback, can only do it on the app

    Hello, i know it off the topic, but is it possible to have dskv8113 and dsk1t501sf both calling one indoor panel dskh8350? I have front gate with kv8113 and my home door with k1t501sf. Cannot get them both to work. Thanks

      @DVSLTD  2 года назад +1

      I haven’t tried that specific configuration , but you could try under the indoor station setting , ( add to IVMS-4200 and then select remote configuration ) going to the network setup and where the option for doorphone is , put the IP address of the 501 unit , and that should allow it to call

    Isn't it about time Hikvision (and others) Sorted out viewing in a browser instead of relying on a 10 year old IE 6 Plugin ?

    • @DVSLTD
      @DVSLTD  2 года назад

      as I showed , you don’t have to use IE , you can use chrome , mozilla , Edge etc , Edge supports IE mode which gives plugin capacity , and there working on a new strategy also 😊

      Can I share wi-fi from my phone and connect to this camera from android application HIK-connect? In other words, can I use this camera in the elevator (I have only 220v on top of it) without any nvr/dvr/routers and other systems... Will it work as pair: this camera and my phone only?
      Thanks!

      Ive got an existing hik system and want to add one more camera by myself and not get someone in. Would this add nicely to the existing system? I think all those cables are worrying me--want someone I can just mount and connect to my wifi

    • @DVSLTD

      we can do it via Ivideon , but where are you based in the world as some parts still allow cloud storage function via HIK

      @@DVSLTD I’m in ireland just outside limerick, I’ve got excellent broadband, I’d like to get this done as a backup other than the nvr hdd.

    Can individuals buy hikvision? I got told only installers can and their support ignores you if you’re not a registered company as someone is asking for £3k for a 4 camera system so want to do it myself as I don’t have 3k

    • @DVSLTD
      @DVSLTD  2 года назад +1

      yes we are trade only as a business

    • @allisterdavidson9805
      @allisterdavidson9805 2 года назад

      Thats what protects us installers. If every man and his dog could just go buy them then installers can't compete in the market. CCTV is actually a specialised field and hacks who think they can have a go ruin it. I'm sick and tired of getting calls from clueless customers who've bought them on Ebay and then have no idea what to do once they get them. Can't crimp a cable, can't work out the setup procedure, don't know what to do if they want to setup Direct IP connection. Customers who don't know how to retrieve a forgotten password, no idea how to use SADP tool. In Australia CCTV falls under 'security' and DIY security and cabling (data, coax, security) is actually illegal and MUST be done by a licensed cabler....AUD $13,500 fines apply. We have a heavy regulated system here in Australia. As an installer I took the time, effort and financial hit to become licensed. $650 a year to be licensed, $1,200 initial registration, insurances, business setup, tooling, plus the study to become licensed and then having to have a spend each year with distributors to keep the good price structure so we want to be rewarded for all of our efforts.

      Rubbish I have my own nvr buy hikvision cameras and add them no problem, stupid ie took an age to get working, don't listen to these Contractors do it yourself the internet is the best way RUclips is full of guys to ask!..

    • @allisterdavidson9805
      @allisterdavidson9805 2 года назад

      @@astragreen Glad I live in a regulated country where you do this work yourself and you risk voiding your home insurance or more. Yes...people like you need to buy them from Ebay - get ones out of China. Then try and update the firmware or get local support and see how that works for you. So rude...come into a CCTV specialist's channel and then spout how people shouldn't listen to us contractors and just do it all yourselves. Try buying Hikvision from a non authorised seller and then getting back up support for your system...good luck!
