For real. Jason’s comic history is so interesting to me, from his very first appearance(literally a dick grayson copy paste lmao) to now. His Robin days in particular were brutal because there was weird ass sabotage, for the lack of a better word, against his character in the writing, then the poll on him dying, to after where he was always talked abt as the Angry/Bad robin IRL and in comics when that wasn’t the case. I love all the Robins and the comics aren’t perfect by any means, but it often feels like his character gets the short end of the stick. Don’t even get me started on the women tho lmao.

Dick Grayson was my favorite Robin but Jason Todd is my favorite out of the Bat family. He has so much depth to his character and such an interesting arc.
Love his character. It fits so perfectly with Gothan people and most importantly gives Bruce that kick in the Moral Values he needed to evaluate his methods. While Bruce tries not killing there are people who should not be allowed to live.

Love his character. It fits so perfectly with Gothan people and most importantly gives Bruce that kick in the Moral Values he needed to evaluate his methods. While Bruce tries not killing there are people who should not be allowed to live.

I remember the theories back then about how Jason could have been the second Red X from the Teen Titans cartoon because of how familiar he acts with Robin and because it could have been a pretty interesting twist to have Dick be the second one instead of Jason.
Would have also explained why Batman was stricter in the Teen Titans series

It was him, that's why they have the same fighting style. If I remember right Jason's resentment for Bruce came from Bruce trying to make Jason a carbon copy of dick Grayson, acrobatics and all. Unfortunately he wasn't any good at it.

@@ahmedjagirdar2773 Death in the Family is the arc in the Post Crisis which is Pre52. Jason's birth mother Sheila basically delivers him to the Joker. The Joker beats him with a crowbar and then locks the warehouse with Jason in it. The DC animation for Under the Red Hood follows that canon.
I’m so damn happy more people are appreciating this character. I rarely see him talked about, and he is easily my favorite fictional character ever.

@@thenexus7343 doesn't really apply to Joker tho. He enjoys his beatings, since in his mind it's just another proof that Batman can't escape him. Joker enjoys being beaten and he would enjoy being killed, there is really no way to win. At least in one of those options sufferings of the innocents would stop. One of the common excuses for Batman not to kill him is that this way he will "lose" to Joker. But he already constantly loses by allowing Joker to do basically whatever he wants.
I love his design so muuuuuuch!! And red being my favorite color is a plus.

That's the Arkham games universe, it's not the same period of time for other universes. Like in Under the Red Hood, it's assumed Jason was tortured for only a few hours before he died.

Jason is Bruce's greatest feat. He made someone strong enough to put an end to people he couldn't.
The statement you said is wrong. Jason was his greatest failure. A kid who he tried to steer to a better path dies under his watch and comes back with a vengeance of murder.

In the "A Death in the Family" comic he wasn't tortured for so long. Joker just brutally beat him half to death with the crowbar infront of Jasons mother before blowing them both up

Red Hood is honestly an example of how a character can become too popular.
As much as I love him, over the years he’s been getting softer and softer to the point he’s no longer that Under The Red Hood level badass I fell in love with. Feels like a watered down version.

In the comics he actually wasn’t tortured for months, he was beaten to near death with a crowbar and then blown up in a building with his mother within like hours of being found by Joker. It’s still a pretty messed up scene in comics for something that happened in the 80’s.
