- I am discussing how to use the Black Beard dry fire device along with the Mantis X3. I have been using this device for the better part of a year and a half.
This device has particularly helped increase my off hand scores from 89-92, to 95-97’s consistently. It however hasn’t stopped the proverbial 8,lol.
Using this device is extremely useful in rapid fire training, it allows you to stay in position during your training sessions. I literally pulled the trigger approximately 35,000 times before I had to recharge the battery pack.
The data valve from Mantis X3 is a percentage value 99%ect,. Not a 9 or 10 like on the target. It give a relative position of shot placement and is fairly accurate to your calls.
All in all I recommend this device from beginner to the more advanced shooter. - Хобби
Very helpful video. I became aware of the Blackbeard about a year ago but had not decided to get one until I watched this video. I've been using the Mantis-X on a pistol for nearly 2 years and I've seen significant improvement in my pistol shooting. The combination of the two products is still a fraction of what I paid for a SCATT trainer, over $1200, 3 years ago.
Hey Steve, I shot beside you at Perry this summer in the 2400 agg and you had mentioned that you have been using the Mantis. I just ordered one. I plan on using it for dry fire practice and the 2 winter leagues I am in. Hope to see you again at Perry in 2023.
Gary
HI Gary, that's great I can tell you it has significantly helped my OH in particular. good luck with it. Steve
Glad to see someone using this specifically for high power training. Would love to see if you saw an obvious improvements in your score, or whether you use it during a match.
Hi Matt, I found this particularly helpful in OH. prior to using black beard in conjunction with the MantisX3. my OH scores were averaging around 92 ish, since I'm averaging 95 to 97 constantly (of course there is a proverbial 8 in there somewhere) especially at Talladega. As far as the supported postitions it has helped me shoot constant 98's at 600 and consistent 99's-100's at 300. it really lets you know if your mechanics are correct. Also I have used it during live fire as well and it very close to the actual shot location. for me I dry fire about 1500 rounds per week so it is extremely cost effective and save wear and tear on your rifle.
Great video Steve - exactly what I'm looking for -for at home and indoor practice. Can you tell us what target your using outdoors at 75 feet?
Thanks for the comment,
Great job Steve. Hopefully getting mine soon. It’s on backorder
Thanks
Is this the Mantis AR-15 dry fire training device PLUS the Mantis X3??? Does this review both systems?
not is and I am using both systems
