    Thanks all. I found one of these dying behind another bush (no light) in my garden, so dug it up, potted it for a couple of years to let it recover, and this spring it started its life as a bonsai, so this demo was very welcome.

    I've been following Peter for quite some time now !
    Your videos are simply awesome ! Sharing all that knowledge is very generous from you ! And your generosity transpires in that moment, spending some amazing time with people who came for you for quite far for important milestones in their life, it's simply amazing !
    And on a more personal note, I have some health issues, and somehow, I relate a lot to some of those trees showing their fight for living in a tiny pot with some scars are quite a close metaphor of my life ! Seeing them still thrive is a sign of hope and it somehow helps me a bit !
    Thanks for everything Peter, and thanks as well for your team ! They also seem very involved in the RUclips journey, and they deserve also the credit for it, and for how the nursery looks like ! Cheers guys !

      Berberis looks really lovely, great and quite soon old looking bark, tiny leaves, sometimes small edible fruits, but beware that depending on species they are quite prickly with thousands of really fine needlelike and easily breaking almost glasslike spines. I can tell you, these can be a nuisance :-)

    • @matthewmatheson385
      @matthewmatheson385 2 года назад +1

      @@h.b.1421 They are VERY prickly! Last time I worked on this I had also sorts of cuts on my hands.

    Moin! Thank you Peter Chan and the "Birthdayparty troup", what a nice Birthday!! from my opinion, Berberis is a very god tree to beginn with. They produce so many Trunks and Branches during the season that you have to be careful be on top of it 🙂 They easily look old and narled. Thank you for sharing this "event" with us!!

    IMO the primary branches were left way too long and this tree needs a significantly stronger cutback. The profile of this tree when it's properly ramified will be way too large for the size of the tree and the aesthetics of the tree wouldn't be optimized

    • @peterchan3100
      @peterchan3100 2 года назад +6

      If its your tree then you could have done that -
