      Sure you could, just mix lots of compost and fertilizer into the soil.

    i love your garden fred. beautifully filmed what camera do you use?

      Thanks! Well, when I had started my RUclips channel around this time last year (July, actually, so almost..), I had used my oldest daughter's camera (a Sony DSC RX100) until around November or December. Around that time, after spending much time in research, I decided to upgrade to a Canon EOS 70D. It certainly isn't an inexpensive camera by any means, however, I do feel like it's been well worth the investment! I've been VERY pleased with the picture/video quality! Thanks for asking, and definitely let me know if you have any other questions!

      thanks fred. i recently bought a canon eos m3 mirrorless but didn't like the quality. so i took it back and have on order the sony a6300 mirrorless, which was a lot more money. i'm looking forward to using it - it arrives monday. thanks for your advice.

      I'm not overly familiar with either of those cameras, but I hope the Sony a6300 works out for you! Out in the garden, I found the audio to be really challenging, as some of my older videos suffered from picking up too much and other sounds. Around when I had purchased the Canon EOS 70D, I also purchased, I believe it was called, the Rode Video Mic Pro, a shotgun mic that attaches to the top of the camera. Great picture and video quality is one thing, but the regular on board microphone just wasn't cutting it for why I was trying to do in the garden. This has been really quite the learning experience, but I have been very pleased with this set up, so far. If one ever watched my earlier videos, you can definitely tell a big difference between the video and audio/sound quality between then and now, for sure. Hope the new camera works out for you!

      i will buy the shotgun mic Fred. was it expensive? yes, i've definitely seen a progression in the production value of your videos. great work

      Sorry about the delay in getting back to you here. Well, I guess 'expensive' is a relative word. If I recall correctly, it ran about $200...There are some busy times for me with my contracting work/business, and then some droughts...I was fortunate to have gotten a bit of work around that time, and I decided to treat myself to that camera and the mic, all in one purchase. I've been very pleased with how both have performed for me...the quality of picture/video, as well as the audio, has really been great...I would definitely recommend the microphone... :)

    No need to be so gentle with the transplant. The plant will be very happy if you gently open up that root ball and let it extend into it's new home for the season. These plants produce lateral growth as well as downward. Loosen and amend your soil and your plants will thrive. Don't forget to mulch

    Where did you brought the Thailand Giant Elephant Ear plant from?

    • @PlantSmartLivingNOW
      @PlantSmartLivingNOW  6 лет назад

      I picked up the elephant ears at a nearby nursery called… County line nursery.
