Hey guys! Sorry about the error in Nenechi's number. It is supposed to say $1,426,019 not $4,426,019. The overall calculations are correct with the total SC totals at the end, but it's just showing nenechi at a crazy high number. My apologies 😔

Thank you for the video. I love statistics so this was really interesting to see. Also pretty shocked that kobo is so low since she got a crazy amount of subscriber and concurrent watcher.
That was the first thing that came to mind when I first saw the numbers! I also thought Kobo would be pretty high in the Super Chats but I guess it evens out with all her subs and viewers like you said. Thank you for watching!
in my opinions 3 main things factor into the overall superchat amounts. 1st, how long the talent ahs existed, 2nd, their number of supporters, roughly proportional to subs, and 3rd their demographic. a talent with 1 million comfortable middle aged supporters will likely get much more SC's than a talent with 1 million college student supporters who are eating ramen 5 days a week to make ends meet. this is why i think for example cali has a much higher SC total than gura despite having lower subs and the same length of time, because gura appeals to a very broad range of people, and i suspect that cali appeals to the more mature and established group of fans there is probably also a measure of interactivity, as i know some talents do way more SC readings and interact with them a lot more and other talents rarely do any SC readings, but i think thats a lesser factor. i'd actually be interested in an analysis of that if one existed somewhere, and i could be very wrong as well
I definitely agree with what you said about varying factors in regards to viewership age, hiatus and frequency streaming, and of course debut factors. I would say Sakamata Chloe is the only headscratcher when it came to breaking trends as she is currently the fastest SC growing Hololive member breaking records haha
Very interesting. A lot of members were not where I thought they would be in superchat ranking and some have numbers way lower than I expected. I wonder how much superchats really contribute to the talents and company overall income, since it is said that 50% of what they get after YT cut goes to talent. They likely get a lot larger numbers in merch sales and other events or sponsorships. Makes me really glad the talents get a salary regardless of their income performances, allowing them to just enjoy themself streaming even if they are not the most popular.
In terms of "Operating Profit," Hololive has done tremendously well over the past fiscal year. Their last annual report (at time of going public with their IPO) "operating profit" had grown 84% over this past year. That includes collaboration deals and streaming activities of course. If my conversions are right based on the balance sheet, "operating profit" was $2,415,376.23 for 2022-2023. Now, what's interesting is, "Ordinary profit" is likely what Superchats are listed under (since this includes income from wages, salaries and "tips" (ie Superchats). Ordinary profit came in at $2,397,503.07 (an increase of 82% over the past year). Now it's important to remember these numbers are "broken down" and aren't the companies total, gross income for the year which came in at $14,484,815.60 for 2022-2023. The balance sheets are a bit hard to read, but you can pull them right off Hololive's site if you want to review them yourself. EDIT: Also, bare in mind - 50% goes to RUclips - % Hololive gets a cut - % Manager(s) get a cut 20-33% Income tax (Japan) We don't really know how much of that money gets to the talent themselves. Hololive may "hold" superchat money on a monthly delay so they can collect interest on it before releasing it. But we just don't know for sure who gets how much when all's said and done.
I'm also really curious about Hololive Merch sales as they tend to sell out within the first day of selling any celebration merch. I actually didn't remember that Hololive gave a fixed salary
@@tawnky Yup. Several members have already mentioned that they get a fixed salary. And it does make a lot of sense since they seem to hire their talents for a few months, before debuting them. Don't think we ever got an amount mentioned but I reckon it is actually a decent amount. If you ever find out information on merch sales, would be interesting to see your video on it. Channel membership would also be an interesting video. Regardless, thanks for the videos.
If you read Cover's Financial Statement, the highest income contribution was merchandises and goods (nearly doubled the superchat income). Although not as high as those two, there are also incomes from live concerts (Super Expo) and licensing/collaborations, which I believe have also provided a hefty amount of income for the talents.
@@arisa1670 Oh wow. I didn't realise that this exist and went to take a lot at it. It was really informative in various way like their stratergies and how they plan to progress and their income sources. Unsurprisingly, YT income is still a huge chunk of Hololive income, but memberships is the larger of the chunk. And Merchs is their largest source, with the exception of live concerts which rivals merchs but still smaller overall in yearly avenue. Really like their future plans too, looking forward to what they could come up with.
Holomems don't see all that much of superchat money though... -30% YT -40-50% company (assuming Cover take something on par with competitor Nijisanji, which has been stated more than once to be around 45%) -20-40% tax (somewhat of a grey area since it isn't known exactly what tax arrangements they have, but they are employed and receive a salary so in reality probably pay ((amount of salary * x%) + fixed amount of yen depending on tax bracket)...but for the sums involved a rough estimate between 20 to 40% is probably reasonably accurate enough for a guesstimate) So for every $1000 received via SC...a holomem probably sees between about $140 to $336 roughly. It's less clear about how much they get from memberships, although it's suspected to be similar if not slightly better...and it is also unknown how much, if any, they receive from YT views/ad revenue and sponsorships/sponsored streams etc. However, if you want to support them, the best way is to buy their merch...they often pay for their OWN merch (unless it's a corporate event thing like a major concert) and their own music production and birthday/anniversary live events out of their own pocket and get all the proceeds from those directly.** ** this is also not exactly straightforward or known exactly either since it has been stated that there IS money available to them if they choose to use it, and if it is approved etc, but then presumably that comes at a cost of sharing some of the proceeds with the company. Neither is it known if the holomems pay anything towards advertising their merch on the official site for for handling shipping/admin etc. So yes, really quite lucrative for those at the very top of the tree...but not quite all champagne, caviar and limousines that some might think it to be looking at the raw numbers. Case in point...sure, KSON might have bought a $9k bed...but if you've seen her streams she's certainly not exactly living in some sort of luxury mansion.

Now I understand why Fubuki said that Pekora and Marine are running the company
Wow, Rushia is still number 1. Just goes to show that they take contract breaches very seriously if even she didn't get an exception.
not surprised Calli is so high up given how much she is "bullied" by super chats lol

There's 3rd party donation site that ID is using, I don't think it's calculated here.
Absolutely insane the top spot is held by a GRADUATED member
It's pretty amazing www
top 2 spots even.
rushia top 1 for sure, asking peoples in dm to continue the donations help a lot
gen 3 really having a strong fanbased..
Its still the most successful gen ever and they are the one who raising hololive popularity back than.

Should also be noted that the ID talents also receive SC money through StreamLabs as well due to Indonesian laws (or something).

thanks for the video, there was a typo on nene's earnings showing her earnings at over 4 million
Thank you for pointing that out! I knew there was a number somewhere that was wrong, again thank you!
Curious as to why theres such a big gap between 17 and 18 place.. is there an error?
Edit - oh wait, nvm just Nenechi OP
Definitely an error! Thank you for letting me know about the nenechi OP number. I appreciate the catch 👍

You had an error at Nenes section where you showed 4million dollars. That nearly broke my brain.
Apologies... My love for nenechi spilled out a little haha 😅
I was like 4mil for Nene?
All those husbandos are rich.
Top 5 dominated by 3rd gen
Kanata of course included in 3rd Gen xd
