      Yes I totally agree. Saw Joe twice in the very early 90's. He was so casual and not pretentious or arrogant in the least. Never met him but I'll go out on a the limb of speculation and say he's simply a great person all around. Stu Hamm has the same vibe imo. Sorry for the long post.

Thats the best thing is that they are 35 years old. Same musician, but with little changes. That keeps it interesting to me. No one stays the same forever. Not even one year to the next. Hardly purely tone I'd say plugging direct into a mixing desk would be. But either way he's extremely good at what he does

    Surfing with an Alien was a great album, loved it! Joe is one of the greats and a unique sound all his own, especially when it comes to capturing melody within his songs and when soloing.❤

    I remember reading a tiny review of this album Surfing With The Alien from a new guitarist in Guitar Player back in 1987..i went down Cardiff to Spillers and got a copy...And the World changed!!! So talented and lyrical in his playing. Anyone who wants to learn about guitar playing needs to check Joe out. I got a chance to photograph him and meet him years later, real nice humble guy. This is a great video, if you've got much more of this performance please stick it on here.

  • @jimmccormick3226

    I don't know why, but this song just has the essence of Dimebag in it to me.....the riff, the harmonics, pinched and natural ones that get pulled out of the octave stratosphere.... I just hear like lil Dime nuances in it all over the place......

      I'm a huge Dime fan too, but Satch and Dime sound unique to my ears.

      @jimmccormick3226 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@lashlarue7924 Oh, don't get me wrong, they are both unique to my ears as well, what I mean is that i hear a lot of Dimes style or techniques in this particular vid of Satch playing this song. Just sounds like a little Dime style thrown in there. Which would be cool if that were true
