YES!! Baggies 🙏🏻 like a fabulous party favor Jocelyn 😁 I can’t believe I saw that mauve vase made into a lamp! We had those at the flower shop years ago 🫢 EDIT!! Just saw the dog in the stroller ❤️🙏🏻
Your videos are fun to watch, but at the same time I'm impressed with your knowledge of where and when these mostly obscure objects were made! Im a recovering shopoholic so I dont go out to stores much any more, but I DO donate a lot of good stuff to goodwill. 🌺
I move away especially when people are counting money! I love flower power pins..sold a yellow rose afghan and a copper lined smokers stand on one tkt today. $60. Yay. Goal is $100 day sat sun. $25 + weekdays. This mo a little slow here. Glad for any and all sales..I love sourcing and the hunt.
I was searching for a St Vincent neat me and there isn't one, used to be quite a few. Thanks for letting me tag along. You have a great day and safe travels
The feathers are you George!! I love it… especially the grin when you tried it on!!! I can’t imagine walking into a GW where the three of you are!! I’d be fan-girling ☺️. I love St Vinnies… sadly there isn’t one close by 🥺
Hi George! I love watching you in a Goodwill. You talk about a dew pieces, give the whole history and leave them. Then buy a Disney thermos. Love it! Im still sure the Disney plates would have sold for you as long as condition was good. Be careful out there traveling in the crazy weather this season. Its just devastating for so many. 💔
Etsy defines vintage as 20 years ago, but I disagree! Lots of things made 20 years ago are still being made today, including fake Murano glass, certain Disney items, etc. I am selective about newer Disney, I acknowledge there's a market but I prefer selling items made at least a generation prior to the current generation
Good evening, George. Well, like most of my trips to thrift stores, I didn't find anything that interested me 🙃😂 It was fun shopping along with you, though...you never know what the possibilities are to find at a thrift store.
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, I've actually found a few nice true antiques in thrift stores, but that doesn't happen often. The possibilities of finding something really good makes going to them fun, though. I've found other things I could use at thrift stores, and the prices were much better than in a retail store. So I never discount being able to find something in them.
I definitely shop them for utilitarian house goods when I need them...in fact, I'm most likely to go thrifting if I'm looking for parts to repair other old items! I wish more had older vintage goods, but every so often we luck out...I got a wonderful Teco pottery vase in a Value Village once, for instance
That's true, and it wasn't done lightly because I am a big advocate for free speech! However, free speech is not one-way speech. The person being discussed should actually be part of the conversation, especially when they also can be reached through their own channel's comment section. A back-and-forth thread in my channel's comments about things that pertain to someone else's channel is not the appropriate venue. I hope the people who felt emblodened to speak on my channel about another RUclipsr understand that the proper place to address their concerns would be on that person's channel instead. On my site, we're just here to have fun!
Wow there are some super mean comments on here about CLL! If you can’t say anything positive don’t say anything at all! I’m sure George would be horrified that you are being silly over a very good friend of his!
Why don’t more people go to the thrift stores to buy at a price at rather cheap instead of paying sometimes three times as much from these thrifter grifters? There appears to be plenty of goodwill places
My question is why people don’t shop at thrift stores for housewares instead of buying new stuff? That’s where I see the waste of money.. for a collector who likes a certain thing and has a full time job, buying from a reseller who makes it their job to go source all this for them and knows what they like is a service they’re willing to pay for
Why shop at Goodwill? They are notoriously known for not supporting the poor in their community. You need to You Tube and see the greed they support. Watch Goodwill refuse to give a pair of shoes to a homeless, older woman when a police officer asked them for help. Sham on them and shamenon you for supporting them.
You are entitled to feel as you wish about them, but not every goodwill in every district acts badly. There are some I won’t shop due to shenanigans, but some are helping people and so I don’t paint them all with the same brush. I also figure that since I donate more when I make Moore money, anything I prize more than them gives ME a chance to help people and donate where I feel is doing the best job.
I saw the video you are referring to. The interesting thing about Goodwill is that people have a pre-conception that they are there to give things away or sell things inexpensively to underprivileged people. That is not what their non-profit does. Their mission is to offer job opportunities in the communities. Every non-profit has their own mission. On the other hand, Salvation Army Thrift stores development their services based on the needs of the community and some do give items away. I think being critical of a non-profits goals/mission is interesting. There are non-profits whose mission is to spay and neuter pets, raise money for fire departments, etc. This is similar to getting upset with them for not rescuing a monkey or donating to a school. Their mission is their mission, which is employment opportunities. Goodwill is not for donating items to the homeless. That being said I’m not a huge fan of the organization.
I’m not sure about every Goodwill nationwide, but my brother-in-law worked for Louisville Goodwill. He has a banking background and gave financial advice/financial planning free of charge through Goodwill so people could rent or buy housing, etc. He also worked with their car program, helping people get special auto financing so they could get themselves to better paying jobs. He was paid a moderate salary from a grant that Goodwill Inc. applied for and received. The money from the stores mostly went to pay their employees, I believe.
@jms4128 Thank you for your thoughtful and reasoned response! I agree that different thrift stores have different aims, and people should contribute to and buy from those that match their ideals. There are certainly enough from which to choose. I'm not a huge fan of the organizaiton either, and I will not donate merchandise to them in several of their markets because I don't agree with how they handle it...so I take it down the street to someone else.
@missbeccabee This is the thing, Goodwill is managed regionally and it is not the same organization everywhere! I know they do good in some places with some programs.
Good tip with the hair dryer to get the tape off.
If that 1989 plate is vintage, I must be antique. Having you go into Goodwill and explaining ordinary items is fantastic. Love it. Thank you
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Watching your video is taking a class in vintage and antique items. You are so informative and share for free. I am always up for learning. Thank you!

Stocking the Stockers !

That was the crazy lamp lady making that racket lol
Dawson Springs hit again. Hope all are safe.
Saw that too. George instantly came to mind.
Thanks! We’re ok, Dawson was narrowly spared but just north of town got hit
You 3 are so much fun!!

Glad you wore the hat!! That sequin skirt would go lovely with the hat 😂
When George said someone made some money shaking that skirt...I said to myself, C'mon George, Out PUT on!! 😅😂
I’m not that brave lol
Loved the black hat on you!
I still have my Barbie thermos from the 60s. No lunch box, though. ☹️

So do I! I’m glad yours is doing well for you
Love the hat 🎩 on you 😂

"If you're enjoying stalking the goodwill employees, follow along!" I love you George xD
In Australia we dont have stores no were near as big
I know that's a more uniquely North American phenomenon, but I bet you have some great shops even if smaller
Oh, I missed it! Lost track of time, in the flower bed. Wish I could have been there.
I was out shopping and missed your premiere, but will watch the replay!!
Hi George! I love watching you in a Goodwill. You talk about a dew pieces, give the whole history and leave them. Then buy a Disney thermos.

What an awesome video thank you so much George I appreciate you🎉
You are so welcome
I knew you were gonna try on the foo foo hat!😊
Love the thrifting video today.
Yay! Thank you!
Love that hat!
I resell on Etsy & vintage is 20!yrs or older. I would pick up any Disney branded items in great condition as it sells nicely.

What do you use to punch holes in paper? For me that was a normal 2 hole punch that everybody use.
I always have used a three hole punch, I don't see a lot of binders that take two holes these days but I also don't work in an office
@@TheAntiqueNomad Oh, now I know. In Europe we only have 2 or 4 holes because of DIN A4.
Love the hat!
Good evening, George. Well, like most of my trips to thrift stores, I didn't find anything that interested me 🙃😂 It was fun shopping along with you, though...you never know what the possibilities are to find at a thrift store.
I understand! Occasionally a thrift store gets a true antique but it isn’t where I find my best usually
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, I've actually found a few nice true antiques in thrift stores, but that doesn't happen often. Fun times in Ohio.
Sweet.
Pls let your friend know that the pitcher with stopper is most likely Belarusian chrystal
If enjoy stocking the GW employees 😂😂😂Priceless George- your a Darling ❤
lol thanks
What ever happened to the 1980's Rush Limbaugh line of "No Borders" men's ties?
No Borders? I think that was the name of the line. Today? How ironic.
He also sold Wemblry Ties. They all looked identical
Don’t forget to go hit the like button ❤

I think it’s unfortunate that Goodwill has gotten so expensive! Takes the fun out of the hunt…
It's a problem in many Goodwills, yet I do find things there still
Check lamps, they can be rewired.
You did not get the Indi 500?
Too much for condition
👍👍👍👍👍
I'm hearing that Dawson Springs was hit by a tornado again today. Is Xeno and family okay? Everybody else okay?
I was wondering the same thing.
We’re ok, power was out but it narrowly missed town
@@TheAntiqueNomad -- Thanks for letting us know. Very relieved.
Советский хрусталь, как вам такое )
Советский кристалл? Мне нравятся кусочки, которые я видел, но я не очень хорошо знаю шаблоны
Made it
Hi
:)
💚🐶💚👋
We'd be disappointed if you didn't model the hats.
I thought that was why we all watched his videos! 😅😂

Only IF you are lucky enough to find it in the thrift before the vultures scoop it up! If not, and you really want it, you will buy it from them.
