  • Tears, apologies, resignations. To think one small piece of sandpaper could do so much damage. Along with bodyline and Kerry Packer's rebel World series this crisis ranks among the most tumultuous events in the history of Australian cricket. All three players spoke for the first time since receiving their sanctions in the ball-tampering scandal. Their emotional apologies were hard to watch, and heads have rolled. Coach Darren Lehmann announced that he'd had enough.

Big girls don’t cry. Stevie, didn’t you listen the song before. No wonder Starc can’t swing the ball like before.

The crying comes from self-pity and not from shame. As far as I am concerned Smith and Warner are the luckiest cricketers in the history of the game, if not the history of sport. To be given the chance to play for their country again shows that cricket Australia still values winning over integrity and honesty.

Please don't use the word "mistake."
Other than that, at least they were remorseful.
You can see they realied their world was over.
If they were US athletes, they would be rewarded.

Lehmann was a cheat as a player, i cant believe he had no knowledge of this cheating. I think he's the type of man to encourage this type of behavour. Australians have always been great cricketer's but terrible sportsmen.

Even if they had got away with the ball tampering and won the game by doing that is that what winning had become for Australia?? And why would you want to win that way. I certainly wouldn’t. “ yes we beat the other team but we didn’t really because we cheated. But don’t tell anybody that eh??” The Australian teams of the past were so good that they didn’t lose very often but when they did they took it fairly like you should. Look how the ashes series in 2005 was played. Respect between both sides. Like I say why would you want to win like that??

Australians do all the dirty tricks in this great game like sledging to win, this time they got caught red-handed. But some big name like Sachin, Atherton did ball tampering too, so I think Australian cricket board overreacted and the punishment is way too harsh.

Aussies were harsh to Steve Smith.
C'mon guys, haven't you ever run over the red light or stop sign?
This guy deserves a chance. He didnt sold his country for the money by fixing tge match. He wanted to win and I disagree too with his method. But this guy have an average of 61.7 in test cricket, the best after Bradman.
I think 2 months ban would had been enough.
And look who was preaching the integrity of Australians to the world, "the biggest lier, the P.M"
Didn't you people saw Afridi, he was eating the ball like an apple and he got a ban of 2 matches. Sachin and Dravid also used foriegn substance to shine the ball and they got 2 match ban too.
And guys, what about Dennis Lillie, who batted with an Aluminum bat?

Usman Ghani the planing part of this cheating episode is too much. PS:- we don’t plan to run a red light. Learn the profound difference between planned cheating and a mistake by the act of accident. Their tears tells us the determination to win at all cost, even if it’s unfair

Rightly banned, also a good example for the future. Such acts are not to be tolerated in future. Plus their audacity to admit to this planned act. Typical wankers.
