Oooh, I am so embarrassed now, I saw them on Potsdamer Platz for the first time and since then I thought it's an artistic installation. Hahaha, well, it's Berlin after all, you never know 😂
I am visting Berlin right now, and on my way back from East Side Gallery I spotted the pipes!!!!!! I got so excited that I knew what they are thanks to your video. Spotted a few other things in that area from your videos. It made me so happy. 😁
Als ich Stadtführerin war, habe ich den Italienern erzählt, die Rohren bringen Bier zu den Bauarbeitern. Deswegen sind auch alle Innenwände schräg 😬 ( und dann natürlich auch die Wahrheit 😃)
This was one of my first questions when I arrived in Berlin. I thought maybe district heating. But I figured it out quick enough. As a Swiss, I can say that some of them need repainting... 😅😅😅
I think no one bothers repainting them, cause by night, someone will come along and repaint them to what they are looking right now. And as long as the coat of paint is protective enough, nothing will be done.
I have been watching and re-watching some of your videos. I absolutely love ur funny side. It's as though your inner child is fully well nurtured and alive. I hope it always will be so! You always make me smile even on worst days. Good luck man!
Radical Living you should really do walking tours around areas of Berlin. Your videos are amazing, you’re hilarious and I would 100% go with with my German partner when we do a Europe visit from Australia next summer!
thanks for posting.I always wondered about them! your videos give very good insight into Berlin which otherwise expats wouldn't know.already noted about visiting Kater Blau from your other video. keep on posting :)
Thanks!!! I was also wondering what are these pipes and why they are pink. And actually I think make them pink was a great idea! They bring a light to the city, making it more interesting and unusual, looking like artistic installation. And yes more happy. But some of them look like they are purple... I guess it's just a different shade of pink right?
Recently got one over here near Uhlandstraße, very cool solution I've not noticed in other cities [having rivers or other bodies of water]. But maybe I just haven't noticed cause I'm used to them !
When I was younger, I got to confused about Berlins geography, because I thought these pipes are permanent. Did not know about the pipe gender thing either. Good video.
Wow and I was wondering for years. How many times I saw them and was like wtf is that it runs all along these streets and neighbourhoods I even made insta photos with them
Why don't you have an own TV channel 👌😎? Your videos are so funny, so well edited and so full of interesting and useful information. I don't understand 🤪
There are a set sky pipes located about 800 yards from the Reichstag, near the former Führer Bunker, where the April 29, 1945 front lines were stabilized. This allowed a last known Berlin exit flight.
hahaha reading the caption of this video I thought you´re talking about the fatboys that people bring to parks, I have seen so many of them in the last weeks, some of them in pink ;)
ALDIS. I know it's a German business but it's cool seeing some things we have in the US to see it other places (even if it originated from said country)

ive lived in berlin my whole life and i only now found out that the pipes lead the water into the spree?? excuse me?? is that good for the environment??
It's groundwater. For the environment, I don't know. But it's good for the building they erect. It doesn't sink into the ground or ends up like the leaning tower of pisa.
I have been living there for two years, drink tap water only and I am still alive. But honestly, it it safe, it is up to WHO standards and nothing bad will happen to your body. The water is quite hard here in Berlin though. But I noticed that it makes a difference only for my hair.
This has nothing to do with West or East Germany. The reason is simply the location of the city of Berlin on a huge swamp. As soon as you dig an excavation pit in Berlin, it fills up with groundwater. Of course, this has to be removed, which is done via these pink and blue pipes. Since a lot of construction is going on in Berlin, these pipes will be needed for a very long time.

"Are they Art?...Do people live in them?" - Well, in Berlin both could be true, maybe even simultaneously.
To find a flat in big city is that hard. Unfortunately, i know. Second year looking.

You're very entertaining..thank you..
This was actually really interesting. Please note content like that
My favorite video is the one about the tubes.
Thank you for explaining this. I wondered about them when I visited Berlin in 2016, and my hosts couldn't seem to explain them.
Most infomercial channel about Berlin on youtube - keep it up radical!
The dream of my life came true - i'm cheered up by pink pipes

I was completely puzzled by that, thanks!
Any time!😉
You are sooo sweeeet!! Really. Just like those pink pipes all over Berlin. Even sweeter 😊
Danie schön für ein super video!
Amazing and instructive 👍👍👍
Before seeing this video, I thought those pipes were art, as Berlin is known for 😀
Thank you! Cheers!
Good editing with the music choice. I was really motivated to learn about these pipes.
Awesome! My son asked me that question when we were in Berlin, and now I can completely impress him. Thanks!

My pleasure!😊
Personally, I love the pink tubes! Another great video 👏
always liked to think of them as those tubes from Mario
Actually the town´s own basilisk lives and moves through these pipes
You get those tubes in Leipzig as well!
They have these in Dresden too.
Love it. Thanks, Radical
Ich mag deine Videos. Es wäre schön, wenn du mehr postest. Danke! Ö=
I appreciate it! I'll do my best! 😁
Bauarbeiten ist eine deutsche Sportart...besonders im Sommer 😂
The pink pollems tubes are in Frankfurt as well. At Opernplatz and at Güterplatz.

Nice video, as usual 😉
It's not just about cost: Pumping all that water into the sewer system would overwhelm it, it can't handle that much water
I don't know if it's more interesting the video, or it's funnier the way you narrate it XD
Recently got one over here near Uhlandstraße, very cool solution I've not noticed in other cities [having rivers or other bodies of water]. But maybe I just haven't noticed cause I'm used to them !

They are permanent. 😁☝️
I'm learning thanks
Thank you for making this video it was my big question the first time i came to berlin 😅
I was asking myself this question 3 years ago or so... nice to see the answer mow😆

Love your videos, always so interesting
Glad you like them!
Thank you. I love you.
You're welcome!
Your soooo funny, you make me laugh so hard
Like the Humboldt Box (now gone), blue and pink pipes, remains of the Berlin Wall, Funkturm, etc; they all symbolize Berlin IMHO.
finally, i know, thank you
Wow and I was wondering for years. How many times I saw them and was like wtf is that it runs all along these streets and neighbourhoods I even made insta photos with them
Nice pipes
Dis Mann der Berlin geweissen!

Because almost nobody is watching old traditional TV nowadays? It’s declining viewer base. Streaming services or personalized TV are the future.

I've never ever Ben to Berlin, but I died winter about the pipes
I always thought it was some drunken illusion, thanx
yes, it is working for me
you said something about train tickets in one of vids which one was that?
in Everything that Sucks about Germany^^
Do any other cities have pipes like that?

Warum solls schlecht für die Umwelt sein?
Ist ja nur Wasser.
Dieses Geheimniss hätte geheim bleiben sollen xD
I actually did not know Berlin is sitting on a large swamp. people seemed a bit.. froggy.
cool
Can you drink tap water in Berlin or do you drink bottled water?
I have been living there for two years, drink tap water only and I am still alive. But honestly, it it safe, it is up to WHO standards and nothing bad will happen to your body. The water is quite hard here in Berlin though. But I noticed that it makes a difference only for my hair.
tap water is drinkable, has even higher standards than the bottled water, only if your house is super old, they might have not the best piping..
There is water in Berlin they have to get rid of? Maybe they should send it to Grünheide where they have allegedly lack of it.
we watch all your videos :) do you want to meet us? we are in Neukölln! how can we reach you?
Da hat wohl jemand sein Rohr verlegt
1 Euro or meter or month is a nice price ☮️
beacuse for Mario Brüss?
I LIKE BERLIN swamp water drainage pipe.
I use them to find my way, if you are lost in the backstreets around the Berlin Wall, follow them. They will lead the way...
Die bunten Rohre sind nur temporär verlegt und dienen zur Grundwasserbewirtschaftung, .z.B. zum Absenken des Grundwassers bei Großbauten.
The pipes are so goddamn fucking ugly dude they don’t even keep them in good repair
1€ /m/ month..wow!! :D
This is an East Germany thing. Never saw that in West Germany.
