Does a reggae industry still exist in Jamaica ? Is it time for reggae artist to pool their resources and create their own collective label, merchandise production, marketing, to gain more control of their music and careers ?? What are your thoughts, please comment!! Give thanks for supporting 'I NEVER KNE TV'
The Elder is Right. Blessed Reasoning. Jah Know. The system pushes the unconscious to influence the youth. They really don't want to push forth the message of consciousness and Self Love.
Reggae like everything else has changed drastically in the last 30 years, hard to find roots reggae that comes from Jamaica now(that I like), I'm still stuck in the 70s to early 90s happily
It has an industry it's very flawed and one-sided. The artists are still being taken advantage of by the Distributors and the producers just like it was 40 years ago.
I give thanks for that, cos word sound is always power. The Incient pointed out whole percent why reggae music is suppose to be a bread basket for the Incient and its not....what about self reliance and self help? Give thanks for spreading this message in this confusion Iwa. Selassie I stand tall
Why mirror the system that we detest? Great question. Also, artists have a choice like all human beings have in life. Is just some choose to sell out and some don't. Don't be a sell out be original, be strong and keep it Righteous!
Yes, on the point...if I may add a point, We have to moderate the level of envy and jealousy towards each other....the root of all evil....sucess and fortune and wisdom should be shared to uplift our spirits and the community we live in.
It is just like anything else, other industries, other communities of Blacks. That is the problem to solve. It might be something as simple as family dynamics. Eg, if Buju Bantan raised his kids, they are in a position to see the industry from a different perspective, more likely a higher perspective. Note that, one swallow does not a summer make, an industry is not one factory, one family, nor one studio. It requires a social network with attending hierarchy.
Babylon teif jamaica reggae long time an we gwan wid it cause we happy fi de attention. Same ting a gwan wid rap. Babylon luv fi teif wey de brown man ting dem. Sadly smh.
Thats why its so important for the artist who gained some wealth to invest in the development of the reggae industry, resulting in more control, more profits, and more opportunities. Instead they just become consumers of European goods, while its the Europeans who are profiting from the culture. Bob Marley was on the path of being fully independent, with numerous endeavors that would give him more control over is music, creatively and financially, but his vision was cut short.
I Never Knew Tv absolutely agreed! Same thing across many areas.....short sighted to the point of blindness. The goal is not the things! The goal is and always was freedom....the means to self determine....to throw off the shackles...to realize the fullness of ourselves and our people. I strongly believe that a lack of understanding of who we are as a people, our history and our power leads to so many settling for the Babylon "things". Jah know we are so much better than this.
The force of the culture is captive to.... It happening everywhere.....turning cultures into commodity of wealth by the wall streeters. Salvation soon, we pray. Blessings.

Reggae committed musical suicide and delivered the Kings music to Babylon in mental chains.

BringOn TheDancingHorses Lack of vision, lack of courage, lack of sacrifice is leading to our demise
Ammanuel Tekeste Because reggae is such a powerful music, it should have been safeguarded and developed so its control stayed with the creators.
Reggae in Virgin Island 🏝️ is 10 times better than Jamaica now
