Once established Okra seem to do well in dry heat with little watering, but they will have to be planted 5 or 6 feet from eachother if you have very little water. After a few months you can cut off the crown to get more fruits off of side branches.
Hi from Curaçao in the Caribbean. We call it Gyambo or Yambo on the Leeward Islands of the Dutch Caribbean and mostly make a national soup dish with fish and pork and conch in it, though in my family we now spice the fingers up with healthy (and delicious) spices and roast them since we have moved away from pork and cured meats. Thank you very much for your informative channel. I subscribed right away.
It's lovely to read your interesting comment about your national and family experience with Yambo ☺️. I've never tried spiced and roasted Gyambo before. It sounds delicious 😋. I'll gonna try it. Best wishes.
It can be planted all year round as long as it is in a tropical environment. But it cannot be done during cold climate unless they are indoors And the lifespan is perennial
