They make the low end throttle response so much better. No more lag because of the cat. And of course the sound. If you go full system, be ready for very loud!
Hey! I own an 07 ZX6R. I just ordered in a full two brothers exhaust, headers, K&N air filter, and a power commander 3. Hoping to see if it makes a difference.
All Things Automotive just got into riding a couple of months ago, I have an R3 but I’m feeling like I’m comfortable with riding in general and the R6 has always been my dream bike. What year/mileage/price are you targeting brother?
@@distreser yeah an R6 is always good. I've had plenty of 1000s and bigger but always come back to the simple cheap fun of a 600. Normally when I buy I look for 2007 and higher for $6000 or less depending.
@@uncle_rick333 its no different than with a car. it destabilizes the balance of the bike. also holding the clutch in means if you hit a pothole or large bump it could make your hand slip, causing your rear tire to lock up (engine idling while rear wheel spinning fast) and crash. or if you need to make an evasive maneuver you wont have full control over once side of the handle bars. if you are one of those people that likes to call bullshit on everything, go ahead, but why dont you take your own motorcycle out and do the exact same thing real quick. Make sure to let the clutch lever snap while idling at high speed too, report back to me what happens

Dude i have a track bike project, do you have any mod that i can put on my bike beside this Power Commander, Ive already put brembo brake, caliper, lever, etc, power commander, full system exhaust, carbon stuff, But i feel like it still lack power
Look on RUclips for Outspokentiger. He has an R6 that he tuned to be really fast. Also could do an E85 fuel setup and get a little more power. And lastly, carbon fiber wheels make all the difference
If you want to make more low end power change your sprockets now that you have a power commander and slip on exhaust you will be happy my oldest son has a 2006 yamaha r6 i have a Suzuki GSX600F my older brother has a Suzuki GSXR750 my cousin has a kawasaki Zx6r and a good friend has a honda cbr600rr all fun bikes my bike is stock other than sprockets swap full exhaust and new air filters
Kept using all flat surfaces. But yeah, shaving time off each run. I've got a third run on video with full exhaust and powercommander. Bike goes even quicker in the same test
IF you didn't remove the o2 censor the PC didn't do nothing. It will revert back to stock settings with emission restrictions. Get block off plates and o2 censor dongles then the PC5 will do its thing
Hi your idle sounded rough - pulsing and rpm needle was twitching . On your first video after full exhaust setup but not before .. But on your second video I could not hear it.. How did you get your bike to idle smoothly.. Thanks
It was rather cold those first few starts, like 40 degrees. When she's cold idle is very up and down. Buy once the engine is warm it smooths out. Plus the power commander helped for the exhaust tune
Downloaded maps from power commander and had my friend play with them a little. Nothing to extreme from what they had. Hope in the future to dyno tune.

So I personally didn't pay anything because I did the install myself. If a shop did it, I would imagine close to $100 for install. Pretty easy to do it yourself if you can lift the tank up
I looked around online for a downloadable fuel map that matched my build. Then just simply installed the map on the power commander 5. Was easy and bike ran great, so just stuck with that

I would try getting on the forums for your bike and see if anyone has a map for the mods you have. If you ask around I'm sure someone will have one that works good. If not, some places you can send your ecu and they will flash tune

Some times a tune will richen up a mixture. When you do just an exhaust it can make the bike run a little lean, so helps make the Air/Fuel ratio better

So currently the new power commanders are up to version 5 or V. All they really do is adjust some throttle and fueling on the injectors. Better to spend the money on a full tune that can mess with timing. If a bike comes with it then great, but would pay more for a bike because of it

So to remove the cat, I would recommend a tune or at least a power commander. You could probably run it like that forever and not have a problem, but might as well get the hp increase to go with the open exhaust
@@karlo134652 can check your throttle assembly to see if its aftermarket, if it is then they sell different throttle pull amount pieces, if not then a power commander will greatly smooth out throttle response.

If you are going to do a proper dyno tune, you won't need to buy a power commander. Save that money and get the proper tune done, better results. Power commander only adds fuel in places, tune will adjust timing, fuel trims, and factory restrictions

You don’t have to use the clutch for all your shifts, just first to second, close the throttle shift up and go, no need for clutch
I've been practicing this since we have a slipper clutch. I've gotten so smooth with it!
lith gates yeah it gets easier, just shift above 7-8k if your going to, but males pulls so much easier

Yep, makes the bike run a bit lean when you go straight pipe. Need the power commander or a ecu tune to run it properly

Yeah ive done sprockets on many bikes, so much easier to make the bike quicker. Lose a little top end but I don't really run top speed much

No, ecu flash does everything and more than the PC does. Got everything you need

Sadly no, I haven't ridden on yet. But I hear good things. But also with that small engine, not sure you will have the biggest gain.

Nope, new midpipe has the threads for the O2 sensor. Just screwed it in like normal and no check engine light

My 2006 R6 seems a lot faster and more aggressive than your bike with the commander and slip on

Did you have to take it on dyno after installing PC?
You don't have to. The PC5 only adds a little fueling nothing more.

Had her for around 6 months now and love her. Power commander was worth the $300 and was super easy to install.

Maybe, they will definitely smooth out your throttle. But if you bought your bike used, it might have a 1/4 turn race throttle in it.
