I very rarely if ever comment on videos, but I just want to say thank you for this video. You made everything I needed to do to install the TWMP and necessary stuff needed. Very clear and concise. If you could add a text guide, it'll be even better. Thank you!
Awesome job man it was great. I could root my device and install TWRP easily especially with my lock and volume buttons not working properly Subscribed and liked ...
My volume up button is actually kinda hard to press, it's broken basically so i can't do power+volume up so i can't enter TWRP but you showed us using flastboot boot recovery.img that we can do that without power+volume up, it's really helping. thank you so much ^_^
Hello, thanks for this tutorial, very helpful. I just wanted to tell everyone that I had a little problem while doing it and it was that when I restarted the phone in bootloader mode the command "fastboot devices" would show nothing. After a while tyring to figure out what was happening and installing and reinstalling ADB drivers and so, I solved it changing the driver in the device manager. To do so, you just need to go to the device manager, select the device>right button>properties>controller>upgrade controller and choose another controller from the list. I hope it helps, cheers!
+jhon ramos Yeah the phone is working fine, if you have root you can install apps such as link2sd or apps2sd, what they do is that they transfer the apps to your external memory. I used these apps on my old phone and they worked without any hiccup. Give them a try.
Thanks Bro. I'm new to this. but I have successfully flashed twrp with the help of your easy and very instructive video. Subscribed and liked this video.
Great Tutorial as always, I installed an OTA and lost root access. It was dead easy to re-root but any advice to stop this happening every time i do the OTA would be great, many thank RootJunky
1 query though.. After installing custom recovery on global miui 8 rom, how can the the incremental ota updates be Installed? It takes me to the twrp screen whenever I try installing the OTA and if I try installing the zip manually, it fails. A lil insight on this would be a real help
QUESTION: Backup using read-only VERSUS just backing up existing system after allowing write but before SU _______________________________ .In the video you first selected read-only mode, then backed up the system. But is there any difference between that and: selecting write-mode, then backing up the system BEFORE you flash superuser? . (And also any difference between backing up EVERYTHING vs just the defaults of system, data and boot?) I rooted using that second method, and i hope I haven't loss the opportunity to make a purer backup that will allow me to easily flash OTA rom in the future...?
Hi! This video answered all of the questions that I had for getting the recovery on the newer xiaomi devices. Just one question tho, is your lazy flasher file universal? Like can I use it for my Redmi 3? I've got all the other required files less the modified boot.img. Thanks!
This is awesome. Thanks. I finally have MIUI 8 on mine. Now my fastboot oem device-info shows that the bootloader is unlocked (not official) can I now revert back to MIUI 7 using TWRP or I have to use the flash tool? Do I need to change the emmc_appsboot.mbn file in the MIUI 7 that I download as well or should it just work fine? Please advise.
i have 3 questions. 1 does this work for official global stable rom and android 6? 2.do i have to unlock the bootloader like the video you have in the description for root access? 3 can i get official updates after rooting?.thank you
Hi, it all goes exactly according to your video until 4:27. After that it says writing recovery FAILED What am I doing wrong? Can I do something to get past this?
Thanks @Rootjunky, i am keenly following your videos for the redmi note 3 entire rooting process. I have one question though, after rooting this device would it be possible to install the global developer rom marshmallow based MIUI 8 (releasing in my country on JULY 11TH) or the stable global rom marshmallow based MIUI 8 (releasing AUGUST 11 TH). So i have saved the videos for offline disseciton :) to help me with the rooting, but in the end this one thing about OTA would be a nail in the coffin for me. Would it be possible to upgrade to MIUI 8 via OTA or fastboot flashing and could or would you show us how. Many thanks again.
hi there, im gonna flash with ur file. but i want to ask before. on ur website. theres available developers rom. it can be flash through mi flash beta or must be flash only with updater? because i hardly find developer rom based on 5.1.1 miui 7. reply asap please:)
Hey man, thanks for all the vids. I was wondering with my Nexus 5x, I used the root Toolkit from wugfresh, and I'm interested in doing a TWRP custom recovery and installing kernels. All I have completed to far was press Unlock then Root on the Toolkit. I haven't done any other process on the Toolkit. How would I go about doing this? Appreciate all the help, sorry if this is the wrong place to comment.
i have flashed twrp... but in twrp it's showing unable to dycript and asking for a password to decrypt int. storage... what to do now?? also internal storage is not showing
i did exactly what you do... and flash TWRP successfully but i'm unable to boot into recovery.. it showing the option for connect the USB.. what do i do now..
Bro I did the same u said flashed twrp(via adb), then super su and then lazyflasher super su works fine but when in reebooted ro recovery it was changed to stock recovey super su is working fine i checked with rootchecker. now what should i do to get twrp recovery?? can i just do the same process to flash twrp via adb and leave supersu and lazy flasher?? Will be waiting for ur rply Thanks In Advance :)
EDIT: Solved my own problem. Hit cancel at the password screen, then go into Wipe and then do a factory reset by swiping. Then go back into Wipe and press the 'Format data' button. You have to type 'Yes', and it will take a few seconds. After that everything should work normally
Are your files up to date ? I'm getting tons of errors, TWRP, 3.0.2.2 asks for password, I try to back up and get errors "Failed to decrypt data" failed to mount storage". I tried a fix by some guy called coface, no password request but masses of errors when trying to back up, I'm completely lost with this.
OK, I seem to have fixed it, I did a wipe data /factory reset and everything works as it should, looks like there was a build up of garbage from all the roms I've been installing.
Thank you brother for an amazing video it really helped me to root the phone, I need one more help in order to delete bloatware from my redmi note 3 please reply or let me know any link which could help me.

+jhon ramos Yeah the phone is working fine, if you have root you can install apps such as link2sd or apps2sd, what they do is that they transfer the apps to your external memory. I used these apps on my old phone and they worked without any hiccup. Give them a try.

Hit cancel at the password screen, then go into Wipe and then do a factory reset by swiping. Then go back into Wipe and press the 'Format data' button. You have to type 'Yes', and it will take a few seconds. After that everything should work normally
Everything worked until I flashed Radon Kernel 3.9 then my wifi stopped working. I don't know how to restore to stock kernel :(
Can i use this method on MIUI Global Stable v7.3.2.0. Does fingerprint scanner works after all this method and rooting? Eagerly waiting for a reply.
Same method for the 2GB Note 3 as well? or is this just for the Note 3 Pro?
