My Mom taped a fabric tag to the wheel on the side of the sewing machine. Every time she started to sew it would fly around and around...apparently it was very entertaining to us when we were babies!😂

What a refreshing video! I also love the prayer you have before your sewing time; that is something I’m going to intentionally start doing. I love to view creating and sewing as an act of worship to our Creator!

Doing chores when kids are awake is actually great, because you're teaching them to do them! I also try to either work my laptop, sew or knit at nap time or night😊

Hello. I found your channel. It’s 2am here in Germany. On my right side I have a newborn on my left side my 2 yo.
2 boys. And I sewed a few things last year, still a beginner, for my son. But I want to try to sew dresses for myself. Specially to make it easy to breastfeed. I hated it with my older son to lift almost my entire shirts or pullovers to sit almost naked to breastfeed.
And I wore clothes I didn’t like, but they were practical to wear/use.
For my second child I want to wear dresses in summer and clothes like blouses I can easy open at the top and do my mom-job 😂
I searched and googled for this topic but could not find specific recommendations patterns. I wrote a few RUclipsr that sew dresses but no response. Not even a comment.
I find it’s worth to think about and find pattern for dresses that fits breastfeeding moms and feel „safe“ and woman like. And comfortable.
I gave up …. But as I watch your videos. I feel I could bring this idea to you to maybe make a video with recommendations pattern or so. I seem to have the perfekt mind for such a topic.
I am so sad not to sew. I haven’t for months. My pregnancy was difficult the last months. So I had time to think about what I want to wear this summer.
Easy nice beautiful dresses, I can wear if I carry my newborn, breastfeed, go for a walk with my dog and play with my older son.
If this is not a topic for you it’s ok. I tried it ☀️
So greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 and please do show more sewing videos. Do you know the channel „sewing therapy“ , I guess it’s called. Your calm and easy way to show things reminds me on this channel. Sewing projects and finish garments in more detail would be nice too. Not every project. But from time to time. I love videos, from cutting out to finish. And fitting is a also something I struggle. I watched ton of fitting videos. But seems so complicated. That’s why I love dresses that are more flattering and easy to wear.
    Thanks 🙏🏻😀

Aaawww. During pregnancy and postpartum I wore sweatpants and t- shirts all the time. While my peers were wearing nice dresses, skirts, tops in summer. It felt impossible to feel beautiful. But now I am starting to sew for myself. I am not so confident in my answer. But I think wrap dresses could help? Wrap dresses, v-neck tops maybe. I hope you find your desired clothing style and are able to make it. I hope you get to feel beautiful more often🥹🫶

I love your channel and especially the faith and motherhood elements infused into the sewing talk. Since becoming a mother, it’s been a (hard?) adjustment to accept completing fewer projects. It’s been hard primarily because the ideas for new projects didn’t stop coming, but my ability to create them did lol! I don’t regret the time spent taking care of my daughter, but my brain can’t stop coming up with projects I’m just itching to sew.
One thing I have also realized is that sometimes it’s a choice between sewing my daughter a dress, and spending time with my daughter. Don’t get me wrong, she’ll still have plenty of hand-made dresses, but I don’t want to sacrifice time with her just so I can squeeze in “one more make”. It’s a hard line to walk, because I know creating is important and beautiful too. Sometimes when I hole myself up in the sewing room and let her play by herself, I struggle with guilt. But hopefully she will grow up knowing the comforting sound of a sewing machine and have an appreciation for handmade items.
One last thing: for me it was definitely easier to sew with an infant. Once toddlerhood struck, sewing become harder for me! Lol

It's an eternal battle in our minds. While we absolutely love quality time with our babies, sewing is also what we enjoy.🫶 I feel guilt, too. Especially, when I see her crawling around barefoot and when I pick her up her feet are cold🥹🥹🥹

I love the prayer you shared! Reminded me to be more thoughtful in my craft. I have a 6yo and 3yo and am expecting in 2 months. Nap time is definitely my sewing time. I agree with a lot of the advice given. I keep my sewing space prepped and ready so I can start sewing right away. While my daughter gets her video game/screen time while her brother naps. I think the biggest thing is to lower your expectations of how much you can accomplish in those short times, and not get upset if you only did a few seams. There's always the next day! And I try to keep a daily routine so that I don't feel guilty leaving the dishes or a chore left undone to go sew. But give yourself grace at the same time too 😉 I also put on an audiobook or podcast to listen to so I don't get distracted with other things on my phone that'll eat up my time.

When my babies were infants, I would set aside time at night once everyone was settled for the night. Instead of sitting in front of the TV or reading. I saved those times when I was breast feeding or when they were napping

Love your video and especially the prayer you shared! Hoping to use these tips as I get a better rhythm after I have baby #3 (any day now). Specifically to simply add it to my daily life and be prepared! I have a small space set up in my living room but it feels so daunting to get into it sometimes because I often don’t know where to start but keeping notes on where I left off and being prepared so that I’m not intimidated.
Unrelated question- where is your couch from?! I’m in the market for a new one and yours is gorgeous.
