    Jocko & Charles,
    THANK YOU
I am a 55 yo. Submarine Veteran. I am a Heavy Duty Towing & Recovery Operator in New England.
I have been a bad leader, husband, father. I've been a quitter. I have become a loaner. I'm overweight.
I will adapt & overcome all of this!
A few months ago I heard you on JRE! I'm hooked! Your message has grabbed me by the gut! Especially, BTF Tony! Because, I'm that hard ass. However, I lack balance.
I stream your podcasts while I drive or work via Bluetooth. After listening to #11. I am listening to 1-11 in order.
You have no idea what an impact this is making! My guys see me working, in deep thought, with my eyes welling up because of your messages. One asked me, "You OK?", I responded, "I will be. I will get better.".
    These podcasts are amazing!
Thank You for getting this old dogs attention!

Thanks for honoring the Marines specifically this time around, though you honor all branches proper every time. My grandfather was a Marine aviator and dive-bomber in WWII Pacific theater, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired a Major General and was Inspector General of the Interior. But to me, he was always just my Daddo. Your experienced and enthusiastic articulations of these principles brings back fond memories, and it gives me a whole new appreciation for the disciplined life I saw him lead and the freedom it gave him and his family by example. It's no new revelation for me to be proud of his service, but your work takes it to an exponentially higher level. That's a true gift. Please, stay after it. Ad astra per aspera.

Became a fan of Jocko based on an interview where he talked about how the SEALS are the apex predator and that the ground forces that running the supply lines braving IED activity daily are the ones under extreme stress. His ability to put himself in others boots and gives him a great perspective on how people operate. Keep it coming.

Thank you for the great insights as always.
Question for you guys: Jocko has mentioned in the past that he trained for 13 years before seeing combat. My question is how do you keep highly skilled teams performing during "down times"? In the law enforcement world, we have specialized teams (SWAT, K9, etc) that can have a very high tempo training schedule, with sometimes long periods where their particular skillset isn't needed/deployed. Are there techniques Jocko has used to combat some of the lethargy that I've seen set in, both in myself and others?

Alcoholics Annonymous is a good place to practice Public speaking too for free.. you can go and just fake that you're alcoholic like that guy in fight club ;)

Jocko please don't stutter so much when reading Marine Corps material . Idc how nervous you get around the Marine Corps .. stand firm...Jocko is so stuck in operational risk management he wouldn't know how to fall like lightning if sun Tzu hit him in the face w an autographed copy of the art of war. Marines over Seals for ever. Real marines who have only one thought . Making the hit!
